Paiste Symphonic Gongs (Tam-Tams) have a slightly raised surface with a harmonic and universal sound structure. The fundamental note of the gong is balanced with the instrument's complex overtones. A good starting point for a gong collection, the Symphonic contains balanced proportions of various gong characterisitics which can be brought forth using different mallets and striking points.

I have been told to only get a Paiste Gong if I was lucky enough to have one and now I know this to be true through my own experience. I almost bought a 28" but after some conversations with experts I got a 32" as I was told it was the first size the Gong would be capable of getting to High's and Low's. I am so happy I followed the advice. The Gong is perfect and it is not to big. It is sitting in my not very big living room and its great. The sound and feeling you get from it is truly incredible. No tinny sound at all. The sound is beautiful and as an object it is beautiful. The craftmanship is exceptional. I feel very fortunate to have this gong. I want to play it all the time! The gentleman I worked with at Musical Friends was very kind and helpful and super fast shipping! Thank you!!

Words can't explain enough what it feels like to play & hear a Paiste Symphonic Gong. I own a 38in Paiste Symphonic in all it's glory!! It sings, thumps & devastates, and thats only when you stroke it once!!! People can complain about its price or usefulness but try telling that to the great drummers who've used it superbly in their music. I love it and it is worth every cent I paid for it!!

honestly people, why on earth would you ever buy anything like this? It is so expensive and in reality you only would hit it every so often. It really doesn't make any sense to buy this gong unless you own a studio or have copious amounts of money to throw at things. Its a sick gong though!

We have one of these at our school, a 28 inch, and it is a very good, solid instrument. This gong has an exceptional tone, beautiful look, and a very powerful, yet musical sound. This gong will fit in well with any musical situation that you present it with, from orchestra to heavy metal. Truly the best gong out there. I've also noticed that many schools, as well as professional musicians, choose the Paiste symphonic gongs instead of other gongs. In other words, a very professional instrument.

Our school has a Paiste symphonic gong, and although it is 24 inches, this gong has beautiful sound characteristics. Its tonal quality and pitch surpasses any other gong you can find. Very solid instrument and very full sounding. Great for accents. Any size works.

My school has one of these gongs. We've got the 30 inch one. It is about 7 years old and it is still holding strong. It is great for percussion ensamble and for progressive rock playing. I prefer Sabian, but I would reccomend this Paiste to anybody. You might want to get a larger one, because the 30 inch is kind of small.
