    Selectable polar patterns for stage or studio!

    The AKG C 4000 B Stage & Studio Condenser Microphone is the only electret dual large-diaphragm transducer mic in the world, and a versatile, cost-efficient tool for high-quality recording. Based on the famous Solid Tube with a similar sound, the AKG C4000 B Mic uses a transistorized impedance converter/pre-amp instead of a tube circuit. Its transformerless output stage ensures exceptionally accurate low-frequency response. The AKG C 4000 B is affordably priced to make it attractive mainly for small home and project studios. Its design provides 3 different polar patterns (omni, cardioid, and hypercardioid) selectable on the mic, making it suitable for many applications, even live sound. Features pre-attenuation pad switching and a bass-cut filter for suppressing low-frequency noise.
    Requires phantom power.

    Comments about AKG C 4000 B Stage and Studio Condenser Microphone:

    This Mic is simply great! I have done so many recordings and it always beat my other mics. I even took it to a Special New Years Event under a tent in the freezing cold (without foam cover). From the hot air I was singing into it, it started condensating & dripping water off the grill. I was sure after that night it was probably ruined for good. I was saying "OMG" I should've never took it with me, but that was 2 years ago. WOW! I still have made some awesome recordings and have never noticed any rust or a difference in Quality of sound. I am so impressed! I used it for: Recording a Choir of 250 people, Upright Piano (next to the mid-back soundboard) in a church, Grand Piano (from open side w/ lid on high-stick-position in a large living room, Vocals at live-gig, Acoustic Guitar Unplugged Session in a room, Re-taking vocal tracks in the studio & Talking on a Demo CD. It's Simply a Fantastic Choice.

    you'll forget about it

    Comments about AKG C 4000 B Stage and Studio Condenser Microphone:

    Clean and dependable. you can spend your time working on other things than trying to make the mic sound better. i have an intermittent ground hum but i haven't wanted to send it in because i use it hours a day. after several years of paying its way i have no complaints. the big buck mics have more status, but they won't improve the performance.

    Buying my 2nd-->12 yrs. later

    Comments about AKG C 4000 B Stage and Studio Condenser Microphone:

    I don't know who reads these but having a flawless sound from a mic that has lasted 12 yrs. in a heavily used (and abused) setting is a luxury. I also own U-87. You have to have a trained ear to hear the difference after mastering.

    This microphone just kicks #!$... for vocals, the mic will make you fall in love! C14 bulls were made for R&B generation... the C4000B for hard punk and hip-hop...

    I love this mic.

    Comments about AKG C 4000 B Stage and Studio Condenser Microphone:

    This mic to me, is wonderful on brass, nice detail and crisp. I also used it for vocals not as smooth as I would like for a low tennor or a baritone but very detailed. also nice on an accoustic guitar. This is an underated mic. worth the money.
