Instrument and vocal miking bundle with AKG's famous acoustic reproduction.
The AKG C1000A/C3000 bundle includes one C 1000 S condenser microphone with PB 1000 adapter for boosting frequencies between 5k - 9kHz and PPC 1000 polar pattern converter, SA 63 mic clip and W 1000 foam windscreen; one C 3000 large-diaphragm condenser microphone with H 85 universal shockmount; and a technical information and applications guide for the C 1000 S and C 3000 microphones.
AKG C 1000 S
The versatility of the AKG C 1000 S makes this an extremely popular model, and one ideally suited for all kinds of recording and live sound applications. If no phantom power is available, the mic can be powered by a standard 9V battery, making it perfect for mobile use. With its new battery monitoring electronics, the C 1000 S now features a reliable LED warning light. The red LED above the the microphone switch lights up when the remaining battery life falls below 45 minutes. The polar pattern can quickly be switched from cardioid to hypercardioid simply by attaching the PPC 1000 Polar Pattern Converter provided to the microphone capsule. The PB 1000 Presence Boost Adapter also supplied with the C 1000 S adds 3 to 5 dB of high-end enhancement between 5 and 9 kHz, improving clarity of speech and adding definition to instrument sounds.
AKG C 3000
Since its introduction in 1993 the AKG C 3000 has become a standard for a wide range of both studio and onstage applications. The new redesigned C 3000 is a cost-effective and aesthetically pleasing product update which maintains the popular characteristics of the C 3000, however a new sleek and classy finish showcases AKG’s new Corporate Design. It is a great selection for both recording and live sound applications, where maximum sound quality and robustness are a must, and the competitive price makes the C 3000 a must-have.
The new C 3000 features a cardioid pickup pattern, a 20Hz to 20kHz frequency response, low noise electronics, high SPL capability and an internal shock mount, which drastically reduces handling noise from mic stands or cables. The switchable 10dB preattenuation pad increases the SPL capability by 10 dB and accommodates loud instruments like brass instruments or guitar amplifiers with ease. The switchable first-order 500Hz low frequency filter eliminates the proximity effect for close-miking. The standard accessories are a metal carrying case and a spider-type shock mount.
Proven for more than 15 years and affordably priced, the C 3000 is an excellent choice for every high quality recording or demanding live sound application.
From vocals to acoustic instruments to percussion with sharp transients, this bundle does it all. Order today!

Comments about AKG C1000A / C3000 Bundle:
These mics are useful individually and together. They don't need a ton of eq to make toms, acoustic guitars and horns sound nice and natural. I would not buy these to use them primarily as lead vocal mics in the studio, they are not AKG's recommended choice for that application and I find them to sound one-dimensional and dull in that role. I would step up to a 414b-XL ll or a Blue ribbon mic to get that vocal magic going.
These mics are good tools for general recording, with enough features to be versatile. They can be powered with batteries when needed, & the c1000 has little plastic caps that really change the pickup pattern and sensitivity. The c3000 has a 10dbpad and a bass rolloff switch to help deal with loud or boomy sources. The mounts are high quality and useful. The higher-priced AKG mics have more features, no surprise there.
These mics look and feel well made. Solid without being overly heavy, the switches click nicely and the threaded parts fit with precision.
The bundle is a very good deal for the price, basically it gets you the c1000 for free.
Comments about AKG C1000A / C3000 Bundle:
Overall these 2 microphones will help you whether you own a high end studio, home studio or just a self recording musician. For the price and quality how can you pass this deal up if you are in the market for condenser microphones.
To start with the C1000 S, this is one and has been one of my favorite microphones in its class ever. Without even changing the capsule covers it is an awesome microphone for brass, acoustic guitar in a stereo mic-ing situation paired with a large diaprhagm condenser, drum overheads (although I usually go with a pair of Shure sm81's, it depends on the style of music...these can be a little brighter), and hi-hats. With the PB1000 installed on the capsule it's really awesome for vocals, I mainly use it for backing vocals because I find it doesn't provide enough clarity for a Lead. I haven't used it much in the hyper cardioid pattern other than on the hi hat. As for the C3000, I didn't have any experience with mic until purchasing this bundle. So far I've only tried it on vocals and the best way I can describe it is a poor man's AKG C414, bright, clear and airy.
AKG does a fantatic job of shipping their products in quality cases with durable shock mounts. The build of both of these microphones is sturdy, solid and not too heavy. Both microphones produce phenomenal sound quality with little noise.
First of all you are getting 2 microphones for the price of 1 people, how can you pass it up.
