Comments about AKG Perception 120 Condenser Mic with K 44 Headphones:

I'm coming from a place where my favorite vocal microphone of all time is an AKG C414, so that is my benchmark. Let's be direct, the 120 is no 414, but it is a solid mike at a great price. I have numerous microphones in this price range, so I can make a really good comparison to comparable microphones. If you are an experienced musician with a good home studio set up, this mike is a must have. It can get you in the outskirts of the neighborhood of a 414 at a working man's price. The 120 has a solid casing, has some ability to adjust the microphone settings and is pretty transparent for its price. I gave it 4 stars, because its not their top of the line, but it should be 5 stars in its price range.

AKG Preception 120 Condenser Mic with K44 MK11 headphones

By Raymond Moore

from Michigan

Comments about AKG Perception 120 Condenser Mic with K 44 Headphones:

My opinion for value is a strong 10 on the mic and a 8.5 on the headphones only because I have earbuds that sound as good and dare I say better? but you know ear buds, they can get bothersom.
I believe this product is a very good product for the amout paid. I have other AKG mics in my selection for home studio and live sound applications and have been more than satisfied with the performance of all their mid priced products.
I would suggest AKG to others looking for a mid range condenser mic's and who are working within a budget such as most of us are.
If you are bald as I am the headphones leave a lot for comfort, the ear pieces seem a little hard around the edges ,but as for the weight ,very light. the sound reproduction is good. on a scale of
1-10 I would rate them around 8.5
Customer service from Musicians friend is a solid 10. and shipping was VERY PROMPT.
the mic is a little beefy for the average boom stand so watch out home studios/ headphones? a good feebee but like I said ,if your bald on top wear a hat.
