I bought two of these microphones for my studio and they're held up by a couple of DR Pro boom stands, which by the way are the sturdiest stands ever. These mics are used as overheads in my setup; mainly. But, I also use them along with my Audio Technica at2050 to mic acoustic guitars, vocals, and even my school band and orchestra. These mics are just as good as the high end microphones, such as the AKG condensers and the Rodes and even the Shures (SM81). I know because I have used these other condensers as well, but for the crystal sounds, the superb value( I can tell that these babies are going to last a while, because I've already droped them a few times and they don't even have scuff marks on them), and an overall score of 5.0 out 5. well, I'd just have to say that if you don't buy a pair of these right now, you are throwing your money down the toilet on other microphones.

This mic is a little light on the low end, which makes it perfect for a hi-hat or ride cymbal, because you don't have to use EQ to get that gross low ringing out. As overheads I preferred Oktava MC012's which pick up the low end a lot better, but like I said, this is an awesome hi-hat or close-cymbal mic.

Comments about Audix Fusion f15 Mic:

I needed to replace a mic I had been using on high hat (the one I had was beaten into submission by a heavy handed drummer). When the Fusion F15 came up on the Stupid Deal Of The Day, I decided is was well worth the bet.

I took it out for the first time, and wow!!! No fizz or splat...just clean high end for days. The output was just right (I've had condensers that were way too hot in a high hat/cymbals application).

For high hat and cymbals, this mic is great. It's got a really nice roll off starting at 100Hz, so I don't have to go crazy with the high pass filter at the console.

That said, if you were to use these as overheads to try to capture the entire kit, you might be a little disappointed because of this roll off. But if you're just looking to reinforce the cymbals and add some air to the kit, they're great.

Oh yeah, they've got a nice heft to them as well. They don't feel like they're going to break if you look at 'em wrong.

I've been using some of the Audix OM-7's for vocals (perfect if you're a singing guitarist in a loud band), but this is the first time I've used anything in the Fusion line. Much like Shure's PG line, this mic gives you a lot of the performance at a fraction of the price. I'll be ordering more of these!

Great mic. I bought mine as a complement to my Audix DP/ mic pack. Excellent quality and construction. Sturdy and dependable. I used it for recording drums, and record my cymbals with great clarity. I recommend all the Audix mics!

Bought two of these on sale to use at our church. We use them to mic all kinds of instruments, and even group vocals. We liked them so much that we just ordered four more of them to mic parts of our orchestra. Full, rich sound. Note that these must be phantom powered, but work very well. Cannot recommend them enough!

Comments about Audix Fusion f15 Mic:

Bought this mic for acoustic guitar. With the frequency range, it illeminates the boomy bass low ends, cuts through a little better, and helps reduce feedback. There was still plenty of bass presence for my acoustic guitar. I think the sound through this mic is fresh and lively.

Comments about Audix Fusion f15 Mic:

I bought the Fusion pack and didn't really think too much of this mic until I used it to mic a small amp. I was sold. Captures just what you hear. Now I use it for shakers and tambourines and overheads as well as acoustic guitar. It's really a great mic. It was much less expensive when I got it, so some one is catching on to its value.

Great mic for high volume, impact sound recording in mid to high frequency ranges. I was surprised how well it even picks up bass drum, but best for toms, cymbals and snare. Great for guitar amp close placement. Really great for piano mic inside console. Low freq comes out, not deep but at least doesn't get muddy and sufficient. Unfortunately, being discontinued, so I got 4 of these on special.
