The battery powered Audix UEM81C Condenser Microphone is pre-polarized for use on stage, studio, video or broadcast applications. The Audix UEM81C mix is conveniently powered by one AA battery, so it's not dependent on phantom power. The Audix UEM81C is a microphone well-suited for a wide variety of vocal and instrument applications, and known for its clear, accurate response and flexibility in handling close or distance miking.
With a uniformly controlled cardioid polar pattern, the Audix UEM81C microphone is designed to capture the acoustics of vocals or instruments while at the same time isolating them from the rest of the ambient sound on stage or in the room. The Audix UEM81C microphone has a wide frequency range of 40Hz-20kHz. Audix equips the UEM81C mic with an on/off and bass roll-off switch.
The durable Audix UEM81C battery powered condenser microphone is very easy to position, and manufactured with high standards and tight tolerances. This mic is well constructed, looks nice, and has a crisp, clear, clean sound. I think it would work great for some applications but it doesn't have the rich sound my AKG C1000S has. If I were to purchase another microphone that can be run off of batteries, I'll stick with the AKG.
