Your vocals — big and in front of the mix.

The Blueberry Cardioid Condenser Microphone from Blue consists of a Class A discrete mic amp perfectly chosen to match the single pattern, cardioid, hand-built, large diaphragm capsule. The mic capsule has been tuned to provide a silky-bright and airy top end reminiscent of the best vintage microphones. The result is a recorded signal such as a vocal, minus unwanted low end resonance that can cause a compressor to breathe or pump, or a vocal or instrument track that sits and blends with the basic tracks of recorded program material. Requires phantom power.

Comments about Blueberry Cardioid Condenser Microphone:

I like Blue mics. The Blue Bird and Encore 300 are two of my favorites.
But this came to me with a capsule that was dislodged and bouncing around inside the head basket... so I had to return it.
So Quality Control is an issue with Blue.
The sound of this model is good, with a very low noise floor and high output level. But when I did an A/B comparison of the exact same performer, through the exact same preamp, with this mic and the Blue Bird on another track, played back side by side (L/R), they could not be distinguished from each other. Perhaps other sound sources will show differences.
For a little more money, mics like the Neumann 103 show real improvements in sound. And the quality is always perfect.
Or get a Blue Bird and put the difference toward a good preamp.

    A Singer is Impressed

Comments about Blueberry Cardioid Condenser Microphone:

I am the lead singer in an unsigned band, and my Uncle is a professional producer. He owns this microphone, and I have recorded with it. I was blown away. The quality and tones that this microphone produced is stunning. I would recommend this microphone for recording vocals in a heartbeat.

    Awesome

Comments about Blueberry Cardioid Condenser Microphone:

This is a great mic I own one and just bought a second. Excellent vocal mic. Not as versitile as an AKG 414 but its rugged and well built. Well worth the money, good bang for the buck. Highly recommend it.

Very dependable and high performance mic

Comments about Blueberry Cardioid Condenser Microphone:

Brings out the high-end as all the blue mics do so well. Not quite as high quality as the kiwi or Cactus, but they cost twice the amount. Features are tremendous. With a pop screen, it allows you to a do a whole lot. Like all the blues, they don't work for all styles of music. Pop, soft to moderate rock in general.
