The MA-201 fet is a large diaphragm, phantom-powered, solid-state condenser microphone with a fixed cardioid pattern. With its roots in a lineage of microphone designs by David Royer, one of an elite group of microphone designers who know that music and sound are inseparable from electronic design, the MA-201 FET
Microphone offers warm, full-bodied reproductions of vocals and instruments, with none of the shrillness and high frequency distortion artifacts that are often encountered with modern condenser microphones.

Using a 3-micron gold-sputtered capsule, high-quality Jensen audio transformer, military-grade FET and custom designed low-noise resistors, the MA-201 FET performs at a level reminiscent of some of the best loved classic condenser microphones. Each Mojave MA-201 FET microphone is carefully tested and evaluated, then packaged in its protective case with a professional grade shockmount.

Recommended applications:

Voice Over and Broadcast
High SPL sources, such as Kick Drums and Bass Guitar Amps
Electric Guitar
Drum Overheads, Drum Rooms
Acoustic Instruments

Superb performance and warm, full-bodied sound from the bench of mic design guru, David Royer.

  • Hand-selected 3-micron 1" capsule
  • Jensen audio transformer
  • Military-grade FET
  • Custom designed low-noise resistors
  • Ultra clean signal path

If you're looking for performance that far exceeds price, look no farther than the MA-201 FET.

Great all round studio microphone

Comments about Mojave Audio MA-201 FET Large Diaphragm Condenser Microphone:

I first tried this mic at NAMM 2010, I've owned it for over a year now and it is simply fantastic. I've used it mainly for vocals but also as a room mic for drums. I find it fantastic for both. Very true reproduction of sounds.. whatever your voice sounds like in real life is how it's going to sound once it's recorded with this baby. I have no problems with the shock mount whatsoever, you just screw it in.. it's really not difficult. Everyone I've ever recorded with it has remarked how 'true' it sounds. Best value mic for the price.

Great mic, but read on...

Comments about Mojave Audio MA-201 FET Large Diaphragm Condenser Microphone:

Great mic that has brought a lot of my recordings to life. The vocals I have recorded so far are clean, crisp and sit well in the mix with little to no effort. However, I do have a few minor complaints. What is the deal with this shock mount? I have such a hard time getting this mic in and out of the shock mount that I hesitate to use it b/c I hate setting it up. And lastly, where is the low-end roll off switch? With an mic this heavy in the low end, it could benefit from at least one switch. Other than that, great mic and I am satisfied with the purchase. Also, a de-esser will pair well with this mic as well. It is present.
