    Best Uses

    • Great On Acoustic Guitar

Comments about MXL V63M Stereo Large Diaphragm Condenser Microphone:

I've used this on a dozen tracks for acoustic guitar, high-strung guitar, mandolin, Celtic harp and dobro. It's a superb mic with very little proximity effect, an open, punchy and natural sound with clear, bright highs. Just amazing for the money.

Great value and darned good sound

    By slabhead

Comments about MXL V63M Stereo Large Diaphragm Condenser Microphone:

I bought this on the last blowout and have been quite pleased with the sound quality. I have some moderately high quality mics and have worked in a variety of pro studios over the years, so have a good sense of good versus bad versus great. This mic sounds great on acoustic guitars, allowing them to sit nicely in the mix even with no post processing. No, this doesn't sound like $2000 worth of mics and would be of limited use in a true pro studio. But it sounds every bit as good as some of my $200+ mono mics and would be a good value at it's normal price. It's a steal at the blowout price and a great addition to any semi-pro or home studio.

    Great Project Studio Value

    By BellCustomGuitars

Comments about MXL V63M Stereo Large Diaphragm Condenser Microphone:

I got this mic bundled with a M-Audio recording package. I've had it for about 2 months now and it's great for the tiny home studio. I use it for vox and acoustic (which is the intention, I believe). It records well without too much influence over the sound at all. Pretty transparent as far as I can tell. I am deaf in the left, though.
