Comments about Shure KSM44A Multipattern Condenser Mic:

There were 11 mics in my collection, but I needed a super flat vocal mic. Prior to purchasing the KSM44, I used a CAD 95 to record vocals - not at all a bad mic, but wanted a large diaphragm.

I was floored by how transparent the KSM44's sound is! As far as I can tell, "it has no sound" / accurately and faithfully captures whatever you put in front of it. Through this mic, my voice sounds so much like me - it's kinda eerie. It's that good.

I also use it for ambient mic on drum set. It's incredibly versatile and faithful to the sound source. As much as I'd like to use it for acoustic guitar, I cannot because I don't want to risk "over using" it on my recordings. It's that good.

Excellent Value

Comments about Shure KSM44A Multipattern Condenser Mic:

I use this for recording vocals and acoustic guitar. The selectable polar patterns come in quite handy; it's like having three high quality mics in one. I've owned it for about 6 months. It's got a smooth, full sound with a lot of air. It's just about quitest LDC made and one of the best at any price. This is a very uderrated microphone. It will be a lot more popular 10 years from now as more people figure out just how good this one is.
