Awful mic

By mr_slugworth

Comments about Shure PG81-LC Condenser Microphone:

Sound quality on this mic is just awful. It's the worst condensor mic I've had the (mis)fortune of using. I bought it because I thought it might be in the ballpark of the Shure SM-81, which is a fantastic mic. But it has almost nothing in common with the SM-81. I give it better than the minimum rating because of its solid construction and because you can power it with a AA battery. Those are nice features. But soundwise? I tried using it for percussion and acoustic guitar, with pretty awful results on both.

Comments about Shure PG81-LC Condenser Microphone:

this mic is a pretty awesome value,i mean it's quiet, it has a flat response, and it's tough as nails.I'm using it as an overhead on drums right now, works great for small to medium size gigs and home recordings.so if you want to clean up your sound without breaking the bank then this mic is for you,I'm actually going to buy another one so i can have(left-right)on cymbals and such.
