Comments about Shure SM94 Recording Microphone:

I bought two to mic a small choir live. They worked good, picked up well. The sound was not as good as a high priced mic, but for the price they sounded good, not great but solid good. I bought them mainly because they took batteries or phantom power. My small board does not have phantom power on each channel so I wanted the ability to use batteries. I have a couple of boxes to add phantom power in-line, but I wanted to try these and they worked well. I think they would work well for overhead drum mics or acoustic guitar as well.

    Wonderful

Comments about Shure SM94 Recording Microphone:

I've owned this microphone for a while now. It was my first condensor microphone, and I must say I'm really happy with my purchase.I can recommend this to anyone looking for put together a decent home studio. I've been using it to mic my guitar on most of my latest tracks, and everything comes out sounding absolutely fantastic. It picks up everything, which sometimes can cause issues with the bass of a dreadnought guitar, if you're too close.Overall, I have to rate this mic fairly high, I'm using it in conjuction with some Shure SM57's and they work wonders together.

20 Years and Just Now Using It to Record

    By CCSinger

Comments about Shure SM94 Recording Microphone:

I purchased this mike in the late 1980's as I recall, and have used it to do solo and duet work with a guitar (unmiked and miked)), for choirs, and am now using it to record. It's feature is a clean flat sound that picks up well from a distance, so as a performer your movement is not dictated by the mike. Love it.

Comments about Shure SM94 Recording Microphone:

I'm a local [Detroit] hard/progressive rock/metal drummer and I use SM94's. Great overhead mic for ambient drums/cymbals! A must for any home studio! Actually good enough to record entire drumset w/nothing more than addition off a kick mic. Thumbs up!

    awesome

Comments about Shure SM94 Recording Microphone:

I used two of these at the first show of my band, and it was the first time I had gotten to use these. They were AWESOME! I had to mic a trumpet and trombone and they picked up everything. They didn't have to stand in one place, just anywhere behind the mics and when I say anywhere I mean it. as long as they were behind at any angle, they came through.
