Now I've finally learned what people, and the commercials mean, by BOSE quality sound and so has alot of other people thanks to my sharing. These are by far the best headphones I've ever put on, and I've put on some that are 4 times this price. The sound, no matter how complex, is absolutely beautiful. No matter if I'm listening to the opening tune of Chrono Trigger in MIDI or if I'm playing Fallout 3 or watching Saving Private Ryan, these headphones create sound that is staggering. Most headphones display sound in an obvious left, right, back, front format but somehow these headphones make you feel like your engulfed. Literally engulfed in beautiful music, voices, explosions, whatever may be playing. The best thing though is just how perfect everything is equalized. The bass is not overpowering, the low and high end sounds never interrupt one another, and you can literally hear dozens and dozens of sounds going on all around you at the same exact time with crystal clarity, but somehow not to the point of becoming jumbled and disharmonizing. Like I said, watch Saving Private Ryan with these things and prepare to be blown away.Great stuff and very affordable to someone who cares about their music.

Bose should put less money into advertising on TV and more money into making a product that's actually worth the money. i find the majority of Bose products to be a complete waste of money. I have 20 dollar ipod in ear headphones that sound better then these. I find that these dont have a very flat response and are slightly more bassy then other headphones. There also seems to be an odd flavor to them that just makes everything sound "different". Also fter about of year or two of having these headphones they fell apart while i was wearing them. I treat my equipment well and i have never dropped them or caused any damage to them besides regular wear these should be way more durable. The only nice thing about these headphones is they are quite comfortable.

Cheap wiring

By just_the_bajo_guy

from Earth

These headphones lasted less than a year because the thing wires coming out of the headphones busted. Plus, they sounded crisp but they're not good for home-studio work because they're heavy on the bass.So I ended up getting a pair of Sony MDR headphones for less money. The Sony's didn't sound as crisp as the Bose but they lasted me 5 years before I ended up getting a pair of Sennheiser headphones.

Nice

By Vamusic

These headphones sound very nice. I do agree, they are a bit heavy on the bass, so they are not the best purchase if you are looking to get true sound headphone monitors for mixing. However they sound very nice regardless, and for listening to music or for non-monitoring uses they are great. Also, when you get them, wrap some tape around the the top of the plastic size adjuster, I have had 2 pairs of these headphones, and on both pairs, the plastic cracked here pretty quickly, and then they constantly fall off of your head.

I got these headphones for some recording and mixing. In my opinion for the price these do a great job for mixing. I would highly suggest getting these for any small or even part-time professional recording.

Great Buy

This head set was a fantastic buy. I purchased them about 2-3 years ago and discovered that Bose puts its money where its mouth is. These are a good choice for anyone who wants great sound quality and can't spend an atrocious amount.

My favorite...

By Joshuarlyon

- These headphones are very light and comfortable. - They are over the ear, but they are not "noise canceling" (although I think they do a fantastic job of blocking out unwanted noise.- They have a good bass response, but I would not use them for editing audio, because they tend to fill in more bass than what would come out of a typical speaker.- Now I haven't used a ton of other headphones, but I have used a fair share and these are great for the price. For average people who can't tell the difference... they are superb. For audio-nuts like me... they are a solid 7 out of 10.Thats the unbiased truth. Take it or leave it.

Bose Around Ear Headphones

By DuRod

from Texas

I use these headphones for computer recording and mixing, and I do feel that the quality of the sound you get with them is good. However, DON'T drop them! I take really good care of my equipment, but I accidentally dropped these one time and the right cup just flew off. It's held on by some very cheap plastic with some very teeny screws. I had to take the cup totally apart, drill another mounting hole in it and re-attach it with a washer, nut and bolt!! These are very, very fragile. I wouldn't purchase them again.

Look elsewhere

By Les Pauler

from Houston, TX

I had an opportunity to try these out and I must say they are extremely overpriced and I would never buy them. The first thing that I noticed was that these are kind of goofy looking in person. After putting them on they did not feel very comfortable or durable. The sound quality that Bose is known for is not so much quality sound as it is accentuated bass that makes it seem like quality sound to the inexperienced. The price is absolutely laughable. Sennheiser makes headphones that cost less than a fifth of what these are going for that sound better!Don't buy.

Worst headphones in their price range, bar none

By thoughtcriminal

from PA

A little while ago I was given the opportunity to listen to a set of these that had been well burnt in. At that time, I was used to mostly cheap headphones and earbuds. Even compared to them, the Bose phones sounded bad. There is absolutely no definition or detail to these headphones. Bass was murky and boomy. Mids barely even existed. And highs somehow managed to sound harsh and weak at the same time. Build quality is pathetic. If you look at them wrong, they break. Seriously, at $23, Sony MDR-V250 slaughter these things in every way. They should not ever be used in a studio, or for any listening for that matter. I might (a rather big might) consider them if they cost less than $20. They certainly aren't worth what they go for.
