Comments about Meinl Cymbal & Stick Drum Gear Combo Bag:
I have yet to put this cymbal bag/stick bag combination to the test of continuous use, but my first impression is that both bags are of high quality. The cymbal bah has two removable padded inserts to protect your cymbals from rubbing up against each other. This will work for three cymbals, however, I wish there was at least one other insert as I sometimes carry four cymbals. The separate compartment for the hi hats is nice, but there is no insert in this compartment to prevent cymbal rub. I will probably just use a small towel instead. For certain gigs I carry (2) or (3) 22" cymbals and this bag does this with no difficulty.
The stick bag seems fine, and has the typical two plastic hooks on the end of a pair cords which allows you hook the bag on floor toms, etc.
Regarding the feature that allows the zipping of the stick bag to the cymbal bag: This will be useful for me when I take my cymbals and a snare only, as I can simply carry the two pieces w/o potentially forgetting my stick bag. If I am taking a full kit then my stick bag rides in my hardware case.
Time will tell if these items hold up, but the construction seems solid. I believe this combination to be a good value, particularly if you can find a use for the stick/cym bag zip-together feature.
