Comments about DW 9710 Straight Cymbal Stand:

I bought it to try for myself to see what's up between the 5000 series and the 9000 series. There can be no argument that it's a quality built piece of hardware. I put my 2002 Paiste 22in ride on mine, but it could hold more. Its legs are more spread out so its stance is a bit lower than the 5000 series. It would be an excellent choice for adding additional cymbals and/or accessories on to help reduce stand clutter.

Bottom line - As a standalone (single cymbal), it's overkill and I will choose the 5000 series. If, on the other hand, you have more ideas than simply putting an 18in crash on it, then perhaps that would justify the extra $$.

        DW 9710 Straight Cymbal Stand

Comments about DW 9710 Straight Cymbal Stand:

This is one of the best cymbal stands I've owned so far. It's got lots of little features like spacers and a toothless tilter that make it easy to use. The double braced legs make it very sturdy and I really like how setting up and tearing down is almost effortless. I think it's a bit overpriced, but the quality is excellent and I think it will last me a long time.

        awesome stand

Comments about DW 9710 Straight Cymbal Stand:

This stand really is the best you can get for the price. Although it is pricy, it's extremely worth it. Loaded with features such as the toothless tilter which allows you to give your cymbal any angle possible, the adjustable cymbal seat which allows you to tighten the nut as far as you want and still have flexibility of how tight your cymbal stays on. And memory locks really make this stand great. 2 comments down a guy said how the one buy the feet is not needed. When your a touring musician this really comes into play. You can take your cymbal stand completely apart, then put it back together without any struggle, which makes setup quick. Great Product!!!!!

        WOW

Comments about DW 9710 Straight Cymbal Stand:

I've had this stand for about 2 years now and it is hands down the best stand that I've owned! It is heavy but that greatly helps your cymbals stay in place. I have taped off exactly where this stand goes and it has never moved an inch no matter how hard I hit it. It usually holds a 16in crash but I've also used a heavy 21in crash with the same results. The toothless cymbal tilter is a godsend for tight spaces that require precise angles and the movable cymbal seat is great because you can tighten the wing nut all the way and still be able to adjust the amount of movement the cymbal gets. I was amazed by this stand, although it is rather pricey.

        nice stand

Comments about DW 9710 Straight Cymbal Stand:

This stand is one of the best additions I have made to my kit. It goes to a very high height and stays there with the memory locks. The black handle is very sturdy plastic and makes adjustments quick and easy. It also can move without adjusting the cymbal to get out of the cymbal stroke if needed. The toothless tilter allows cymbals to be placed at any angle. The plastic cymbal seat can move up and down to allow the cymbal more or less move ment while keeping the wing nut tight. The only two things I have not found a need for is the memory clamp under the legs and the Tech-lock thing. I have never wished for a memory clamp for the legs as they have never moved on me. The Tech-lock so far for me has not worked. The cymbal stand adjustments stay fine without them and my 9000 series snare stand still moves WITH them. These two things are not bad, I just think they aren't needed. Over all this is the sturdiest stand out there. It just refuses to move.
