    Hard to let go...

Comments about Dean Exotica Andes Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've owned this guitar for about 10 years now. I bought it before I really knew what to look for in a guitar and even today I'm still impressed that I had such decent taste at that age :) I've since sold just about every other guitar I've ever owned. My main "work horse" is a Taylor 315 CE. This one had been sitting in its case for years unplayed. My other guitarist needed an acoustic for a few songs so I brought this one out and set it up (new strings, etc.) and he was really impressed. Not only does it have a nice crisp sound (hard to find in guitars that are fully lacquered), but it sounds great plugged and unplugged. The EQ is basic but gets the job done. I've thought of selling it a few times but every time I do I decide to keep it a little while longer. Definitely great for beginners and players needing an inexpensive backup.

Comments about Dean Exotica Andes Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I great guitar. I have played many in this price range, as well as much more expensive. This is by far the best guitar I have played for the money. I own a Taylor, and while it's not as good of a guitar as my Taylor, it is also a quarter of the price. My only complaint (if you can call it that), is that I wish it had a little better electronics on it. No matter what it much better than any other guitar you can buy at this price. I use mine every Wednesday night for worship at church.

Comments about Dean Exotica Andes Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have been playing guitar for 8 years and over this time I've owned owned guitars. In addition I also work at a music store, which specializes in guitars. I play at local bars and cafes. The Dean Andes took me by storm it is by far one of the best acoustics you can get at this price. Its honestly that simple. This guitar even blows some more expensive acoustics out of the water. Beginner or not this guitar is heavenly.

This is one of the best acoustics I have ever played and I've played a lot. The timbre is amazing (sound quality). I love the action and the neck is soooo smooth. This is way more than just a beginner guitar. If you want an amazing acoustic for a ridiculously low price, BUY IT!!

    great beginner guitar

Comments about Dean Exotica Andes Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This line is great for serious beginners. The new student will like the look, feel, and sound. A high end performer would definitely not look at this. Great for going on camping trips too. The sound is nice, good enough woods. Great action because it is a Dean. For the price it is a safe investment for a new student because they won't outgrow it for years, or if they quit trying within 8 months or so, it will hold most of its value. Dean does make a great product. My friend owns one and I like playing it. This is a better value and quality than Martin's or Taylor's model at this price. I like it more than my Fender acoustic. Great value.

    great for the money

Comments about Dean Exotica Andes Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have been a bass player for going on 10 years... I decided i wanted to start learning regular guitar and I found a very slightly used model and i picked it up immediately. The features are pretty good and the sound is warm and rich. It has the value of a guitar that costs twice as much.

    Nice- getting nicer

Comments about Dean Exotica Andes Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Out of the box, this guitar had a horrible buzz throughout the instrument, especially in the low E. But DON'T panic- after putting on some quality Elixer strings and breaking the frets in a bit with frequent playing- your patience will be rewarded! The guitar sounds great! And I always get comments on the beautiful grain of the rosewood. Buy it!

    Dean Andes

    By wbkau

Comments about Dean Exotica Andes Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've had this guitar for almost a year and have been very pleased with it. I play with Elixir custom light strings and have put brass pegs in place of the stock plastic ones. The looks are awesome and everyone comments on that, sound is warm and when used with the Jellifish pick makes great sounds!

Comments about Dean Exotica Andes Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar plays extremely well. The andes wood gives a crisp sound that can be a little tinny depending on taste, but overall this guitar is an exceptional value. Definitely one of the best guitars you can buy in this price range. The electronics are good, not superb, but good. The action is wonderful, it played beautifully without being tweaked.

Awesome sound at an affordable price

    By JSR

Comments about Dean Exotica Andes Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is a sweet guitar for the price. I shopped a long time before making a decision to buy the Exotica, and played guitars in the same price range from Fender, Ibanez, Takamine, Epiphone, Cort and Ovation. This guitar was not only the most beautiful, but also had the best sound. It sounds great unplugged or hooked up to my Crate practice amp. Fishman electronics might improve the package, but would make it less affordable.
