OVERVIEW

The dynamic crunch and warmth of the legendary Ecstasy amplifier's Blue Channel, now in a compact pedal.

The Ecstasy amplifier was born in 1992, and decades later Bogner is still hand building each amp, one at a time, in Los Angeles, California. The Ecstasy Blue pedal captures the classic Blue-Channel tone of this legendary amplifier, acclaimed for its ability to deliver iconic and classic rock 'n' roll crunch. It's no secret that the Blue Channel cranks out stunning Plexi-like tones, but when the going gets tough it can crush on demand as well.

Reinhold designed the Ecstasy Blue pedal with five discrete Class A gain stages and no op-amps or diode clipping, mirroring the circuitry of the Ecstasy amplifier's Blue channel. This revolutionary approach provides clarity, touch sensitivity and note separation never before achieved in overdrive pedals.

The Ecstasy Blue is powered by a standard 9V battery or 9V power supply. Reinhold's advanced circuitry internally elevates the voltage a substantially higher level. This higher voltage provides a greater dynamic range which closely resembles the feel of the Ecstasy amplifier's legendary tube design.

Comments about Bogner Ecstasy Blue Overdrive/Boost Guitar Effects Pedal:

I have had this pedal for over a year and am still finding new uses for the Blue.
I use several amps and it plays different roles in each setup. From an always on
preamp to a searing solo booster and everything in between. When I hear a sound
in my head chances are this pedal will help me get there. Every knob and switch
does something significant to the tone or feel, and both the Plexi and Blue modes
are so fantastic that it does take some time to dial in your sound at first. But this is
time well spent because there are so many great tones to be discovered. It Plays
well with other o.d.s for stacking and sounds great with all the guitars I've plugged
into it. It can be super touch sensitive and dynamic or fairly compressed so have
fun with the way it responds to your playing and find your sweet spot ...its there.

Many options. Good sounds on each. Ran it through about five clean and dirty tube amps. Did nice mojo stuff with each.

Comments about Bogner Ecstasy Blue Overdrive/Boost Guitar Effects Pedal:

If there was a 4.5 star option I would go with that only because the boost function gives too much boost when volume and gain are all the way down. I would say the non-boost side is the best stand alone overdrive I have ever heard and by a fairly wide margin. The boost tones are also fantastic, I just wish you could have a unity volume and boost only the gain but that is not the case. Don't let that fact discourage you! The pedal gives you a smorgasbord of vintage and modern amp sounds(obviously Marshal Plexi and Bogner Ecstacy based) that make your amp sound, sustain and FEEL like is is turned up to 7 or higher when it is in the 2-4 range. There is some magic going on with the high internal voltage that you have to play, hear and feel to fully appreciate. I will probably never take advantage of all the gain this pedal offers because I am more of a blues/roots rock style player but there is PLENTY on board. I would say that if you play through a single channel Fender Blackface style amp then this pedal is the no-brainer of the century. Or,if you love clean tones but usually need to turn up too loud to get enough sustain this will get you there. All the very aggressive crunch and grind is available for excellent classic - hard rock sounds but it is the sustain and dynamics on the cleaner sounds at rehearsal volumes that has me hooked!! Last but not least, it loves Strat and Tele single coils, hummuckers, Filtertrons and P90's!!
