Comments about Modtone Mini-Mod Overdrive Guitar Effects Pedal:

I wasn't sure what to expect when ordering this pedal but I'm shocked at how good this pedal sounds. It sounds great if you're using it as a light boost or for mild-heavy overdrive. It was a little bright sounding initially in the front of my AC 15, but after I rolled the Tone and Gain controls back a little I found the sweet spot and it rocks. It sounds great with my Sheraton and Gibson's and with some tweaks it works well with my single coil guitars too.

Comments about Modtone Mini-Mod Overdrive Guitar Effects Pedal:

I bought this pedal because it was on sale at an unbeatable price. Even though I know how to build pedals, I couldn't build a pedal without spending more money than this pedal cost.

I have a one channel amp, so it can be set up to be clean or dirty but there's no way to switch.

This pedal gives a nice overdriven sound with a tap of the foot. Might not want to use it in recording, but it works fine for live. Very simple easy-to-use controls and the enclosure is metal, so it's unlikely to break.

I'll probably try other pedals by this company.

Comments about Modtone Mini-Mod Overdrive Guitar Effects Pedal:

I wish I could give this a 2 1/2 stars, because it is average.....but maybe on the lower side of average. I found this as a stupid deal of the day so I thought, I'll give it a chance. This unit is not miserably bad for a budget pedal. The Tone , Gain, and Level all behave as they should. The tone will let you dial in everything from dark fuzzy, to brittle high end, with a nice warm in between, that sounds very natural. It is also very quite, without a lot of hissy noise that sometimes plagues these types of pedals. The True bypass is an honest true bypass. when turned off, it doesn't seen to affect the level or tone of my guitar or amp whatsoever. The construction seems to be very sturdy. Nice metal chassis, that I think would hold up for regular gigging.
The downside of this pedal is, you lose a lot of the bottom end when it is turned on. Also the over all tone seems to be slightly too "Digital" sounding for my taste ( not sure if that's the best description)It almost sounds like a noise gate type thing, but not miserably so. It VERY usable

In short, this is not the worst pedal I've ever used. If you were going to use it to give a little extra grit for solos, it would be excellent. If you are trying to give a little over drive to your single channel amp without having to turn your amp up to 10,this may not be the best choice. There are some very good demos of this pedal on you tube. go check them out
