A unique distortion pedal with a full spectrum of tonal abilities.
The ZT Extortion pedal is a completely unique concept in effects pedal design. Switch between pristine, vintage-style analog overdrive and DSP-enhanced tonal extremes unlike anything any that have come before. From blues-y midrange-sweet drive through searing highs to the deeply scooped chug of death metal, the Extortion does it all.
For classic tones, the Extortion features one of the finest analog distortion circuits ever heard. To blast into other worlds, kick in the “Spectral DSP”. Fully adjustable in tonality and intensity, the digital circuitry is not a separate “stage” simply placed in series with the analog. The Extortion becomes an analog/digital mutant, with the two domains merged together as one. The Spectral DSP can also be controlled real-time with an external expression pedal, for even more out-there sounds!
Combine all this with an innovative single tone control that functions as a graphic EQ, the Extortion is a true pedal lover’s dream. It can be your sole distortion or complement your other favorites – but once you hear it you won’t want to live without it.
- Switchable between pure analog and DSP-enhanced analog modes
- LED indicators for Bypass, Analog engaged, DSP engaged
- Tone control (functions as Graphic EQ)
- Drive & Level controls
- Control Input for expression pedal (not included)
Whatever your sound, the Extortion has you covered.

Comments about ZT Extortion Expressive Distortion Pedal:
Very cool pedal. I can get a nice old school distortion such as my TS-9 or Hepcat & also a modern over the top distortion with the DSP section. The tone control is unique. It lets you dial in eq curves rather than more/less bass/treble. The DSP section has a similar control. I love being able to dial in sound rather than programme. You can also hook up an expression pedal for the DSP control for a wah-like control of distortion. True bypass. Great for live use.
