OVERVIEW

A clip-on that's ideal for tight drum setups and horns!

Use the pre-polarized Audix F90 Condenser Microphone designed with drums, percussion, and instruments in live sound and live broadcast applications.

With a smooth uniform response over a frequency range of 50Hz -18kHz, the F90 is lightweight, compact, and extremely easy to use. The microphone is designed with an integral clamping system making it simple to attach to the rims of drums, percussion instruments, and a variety of other instruments such as sax, trumpet, and trombone. The F90 has a cardioid pick-up pattern and is capable of handling sound pressure levels up to 135 dB. The flexible gooseneck, along with the 90-degree angle of the microphone head, puts the microphone in the proper position for placement directly over the sound source.

Any final adjustments can be made by simply twisting or bending the gooseneck into the desired position. The F90 is highly sensitive and will pick up the warmth and clarity of instruments without boominess. The F90 operates on phantom power of 9-52 volts and is supplied with a phantom power adapter, integral clamp, cable, and windscreen.

Comments about Audix F-90 Small Diaphragm Clip Mic:

When Audix first came out with these types of Microphones I bought the cheaper version which was replace forever by the F-90. Since purchasing these mics our drum tones changed drastically for the better. They are a Hot microphone and the drum tones are just killer in live performances.

Comments about Audix F-90 Small Diaphragm Clip Mic:

I'm going with the 5 stars, and here is why.
First, I am a drummer and I hate to have mics getting in my way. This is small enough to not get in the way.
Second. I have a small sound company that arose from doing sound for my sons band. I know how drums are supposed to sound. These mics do just fine for small applications like mine, especially when you are on a budget. I have 4 of them and they are used on the snare, and usually the high toms over the kick drum. I double mic the snare with a SM57 on the bottom and between the two mics what you get is a great snare sound.
Third. As for the gooseneck...easy fix. Yes it will straighten out to a point, but what I did is took a piece of black household electrical wire and wrapped it around the the gooseneck. Problem solved. Make sure the wire is stiff enough to stay in place and you'll be just fine.
Phantom Power IS required for this mic!! Don't forget that! These things are hot enough to where I usually don't need a mic for the Hi Hat on drums. They will pic that up if you place it closer to the Hi Hat.
I truly hope that helps all of you and for the price point you can't beat it!

Comments about Audix F-90 Small Diaphragm Clip Mic:

This mic sounds great and is small but I have to say that the gooseneck doesn't hold position, it always end up standing straight up (the reason I'm giving this 4 stars instead of 5)... it will still pick up in this position but you have to compensate a bit at the board so I start out with it standing up now when I do the sound check. The clamp is nice and not harsh on my rims at all. If you're looking for mics for your drums and want to step up from your old CADs then this is your next step.
