Comments about Shure PG56-XLR Dynamic Drum Microphone:

These are the best bang for the buck I have seen on drum mics. They sound great and are easy to set up. Not sure how thay would be in a Pro studio but they work great in my home studio and for playing out. I use Shure mics on all my kit and am very happy with them.

Comments about Shure PG56-XLR Dynamic Drum Microphone:

These mics sound great!! I just bought 3 and use them on our drummer's toms. If you have properly tuned drums, all you need is a gate for each mic to shut the lingering resonance of the tom off. Apply a little channel EQ to your liking with your mixer and you have a very professional sound. I use a Beta57 on the snare but these PGs sound just as good. They are a great deal too, not only do you get the mic but you get a nice clip on drum mount, and XLR cable with molded ends. Buy them!

    Love This Mic

    By The Beave-ZGZCB

    from Aiken, S.C.

Comments about Shure PG56-XLR Dynamic Drum Microphone:

While an SM57 is one of the industry standards for drum/instrument micing, the PG56 does a fantasic job taking it's place. The pluses are that it is smaller (doesn't get in the way of cymbals and other mics near as much), it is suprisingly transparent and records just as good as the SM57 and it is also cheaper (big plus for stage work). Works equally well for snare as well as toms. If you need a drum mic that gives big bang for the buck, so to speak, get this mic. You won't be sorry.
