I've found the "Lars" to be very durable, even when the covers were trashed...my cymbals suffered though, so show some love to them & replace the old one's with these

I don't know of any other option besides these, but they do their job well & are worth it!

Not replacing them is like not changing the oil in your car...STUPID!!!

If you love Ahead sticks like I do...Keep 'em Around!! The sticks are not cheap but a little love will keep them going much longer, & these covers are essential to that. ROCK ON !!!!!!!

I have the Lars model and I've had them for well over a year now.  I've replaced the covers 3 times in that time period and I'm over due to replace them again.  You really only need to replace them when you have noticeable gashes in the covers, not just because they look torn up.

I us the Lars signatures, I love them to death. I tend to break a lot of sticks till I switched to this brand. I've had them since xmas and have recently bought new covers. I play for about an hour a night and they hold up so well and are resilient to most anything. If you are the type who breaks a lot of sticks, please do yourself a favor and get these because you'll save yourself a lot of money.

Ever sense I bought the Lars Ulrich signature Ahead sticks I never went back to wood sticks again. Every time I used a set of wooden sticks they would break in a week. It's nice to just buy sleeves instead of all new sticks

Good, tough covers.  The sticks themselves are slippery little buggers, but they have excelent feel.
