      OVERVIEW

Ahead's Spinal G drum thrones have been developed for players who require the higher level of support and comfort an ergokinetic throne provides. Ergokinetics is a term invented and trademarked by Doctor of Chiropractic and designer of the Spinal G throne, Richard Robertshaw. This science focuses on the integration of design and support of the human body in motion, whereas ergonomics studies the integration of design to support the human body at rest.

Support your body in ergokinetic comfort with Ahead's premium-quality thrones.

Comments about Ahead Spinal G Drum Throne:

Seems great. I used to get back pain and it seems to relieve it during long sessions. I needed to be higher and my old seat was broken so I decided to go with quality equipment as I usually do. It's heavy duty and satisfies all of my needs. I believe you will be happy with the product although I have only had it for a couple of weeks.

Comments about Ahead Spinal G Drum Throne:

The Ahead Spinal G is obviously based on the Carmichael Throne "free floating spine" concept of relieving pressure on the tailbone (coccyx). While the Carmichael is extremely comfortable, I found I prefer the Spinal G "saddle" over the Carmichael round-top. The gap is not as wide as the Carmichael, but I'm a slim enough guy that the wider gap tends to cause me to shift often.

As a kid, I broke my coccyx while roller skating and the bone healed a bit hinky which has caused me back problems for life. I also have two herniated disks from a lifetime a lifting trap cases, Marshall cabinets and the like and the Spinal G is a very welcome advance in my orthopedic therapy. The seat itself is very firm which I like for the support and the seat material is breathable, unlike most vinyl and leather thrones which results in sitting in a puddle of sweat after a 90 minute show. If you suffer from back pain and/or fatigue, you'll find this is the seat for you.

              Spinal Glide drum throne

Comments about Ahead Spinal G Drum Throne:

This is the most comfortable drum throne I've ever had. I've only had it for about a week now, so I can't comment on long term durability but it's so comfortable to play on.

I have an electronic drumset set up next to a desk with my daw setup. I had been using an office chair when sitting at the desk but now I just scoot this throne over to sit on. Very comfortable.

Also, I'm not a big guy but if you are, you might want to check this throne out as the seat is very large and supportive. Compared to my old Gibraltar throne, this thing is like a Cadillac. I can practice as long as I want without feeling fatigued. I guess it's kinda spendy but so far it's worth it. Definitely worth checking out.

Superior comfort and performance. Back tense up during long practices or sets out? This seat is the solution. Super wide, soft and the 4 legs feel much more stable than a traditional 3 legged seat. For those seeking comfort, take it from a 225 pound man and go with ahead!

My original seat was ok, however I could not play very long before my groin would go to sleep. This new chair is perfect, i can play for hours. Its very sturdy! If you want to be completely comfortable get this seat! It makes my original throne look like a toy!

Comments about Ahead Spinal G Drum Throne:

This is definitely the Cadillac of thrones. I had been using the Chevy's and Fords until now.

I have been playing drums for 20 years. My style ranges from fusion to extreme metal and grind. I worked as a drum guy in a music store over 4 years, so I am familiar with most throne models. This is by far the most comfortable throne I've ever owned. Before this Ahead Spinal G, I've used Pearl roadster, DW, high-end Gibraltar, and Roc n Soc.

My favorite things about this throne:
The quad leg base. I love this. It's amazingly solid and has no "wobble." The threaded post is a lot like the roc n so design, but Ahead has designed the clamping mechanism much better, which resembles Roadster thrones with a hinged-style fastener.

The throne seat: it has a very firm feel to it, but it's not too firm. I usually play for 2 or so hours and am comfortable the entire time. The base of this is very solid and well made. The pad sits on a solid piece while the steel below supports it; excellent design. I really like that the wing nuts are slightly larger so you can really torque them down tightly. This throne encompasses all of the things I'm looking for.

The only con I can see is maybe some difficulty touring with it. It is very cumbersome and probably won't fit in standard hardware cases. But in my opinion, the comfort is worth it. If I could make any changes, I would prefer double stitching instead of single stitching where the top material is sewn to the side material.

It is a little spendy, but is competitive in price. You will certainly get what you pay for with this beast.

Just splurge a little on this Cadillac drum throne. Get rid of the Chevy or Ford.
