The enhanced bass drum system is fast, responsive, and extra-quiet. The sturdy, all-in-one drum rack features a wide stance with longer feet for improved balance. Compact and complete, the DM7X Session Kit fits easily into a home studio or performance stage. Add an extra tom pad and/or cymbal pad to grow this expandable kit as your needs change.
The DM7X module comes complete with 40 classic and modern ready-to-play kits. Easily tweak any existing kit, or create your own using the 385 premium drum, cymbal, and percussion sounds. Inside the DM7X module you’ll find valuable extras. The built-in learning mode features, sixty play-along music tracks, and an onboard metronome allow you to improve your skills. There is a headphone jack for private practice, plus stereo outs to connect to a PA system, amplifier, or recording interface. The stereo aux input allows you to jam along to your favorite tracks on your CD player or mobile device.
The entire DM7X Session Kit sets up on a compact and sturdy 2-post drum rack. The wide stance and long feet offer stability for any style of drumming. Four Alesis DMPad 8" drum pads are provided; three tom pads and a special dual-zone snare pad offering realistic rim sounds. Next, add in a collection of three 10" cymbal pads—crash, ride, and hi-hat. The crash cymbal pad allows authentic choking of the cymbal sound. Quiet and compact, the bass drum system includes the responsive chain-driven X Kick pedal with an inverted beater for use with the super-silent StealthKick 2 trigger. Additionally, a cable snake is provided for easy and neat connections from the drum module to the drum pads, cymbal pads, and pedals.

Comments about Alesis DM7X Session Electronic Drumset:
Ok, the brain is decent. The tom pad are ok. My favorite pads on this set are the snare and the crash with choke. Hi hat pedal has issues. The cymbals and pads are very sensitive. Ok bottom line Alesis makes good products. The cons to this set are the tom pads and hi hat pedal. The pros are you can do a lot with the brain and the snare and crash pads. So that being said save a little extra cash and get the next kit up that has all double trigger pads. Also I own the Alesis DM 10 and bought this kit to add pads and another brain to my set up because it was so cheap. Let me tell you if I could take the brain from my Alesis DM, all double trigger pads like the snare drum on this kit, and the bass and cymbals that came with the DM 10 you have a pretty nice electric set. The rubber pads like the snare on this set are better than the DM 10 pads upgraded with mesh heads. It even plays with a better feel. I would buy this kit for the price again for the pads but I hope this review helps!
Comments about Alesis DM7X Session Electronic Drumset:
This kit arrived only 3 days after ordering, well
packed and all parts strong and well built.
Assembly easy, check for correct clamp positioning
as you go. Rugged yet lightweight when assembled.
Audio quality excellent, plenty of headphone volume, vol control also sets level to ext. amp
Recommend good closed-air phones for practice as they help attenuate unwanted stick-to-rubber sounds especially on cymbal pads.
Kit comes with 1 dual-zone snare pad and 3 single-zone tom pads. Module supports add-on
of 2 more single- or dual-zone pads and later
replacement of the single-zone toms w/ dual-zone
pads if desired.
Response and sound of tom pads and bass pedal are
fine, snare and cymbals may need some adjustment
of voices and settings to get best dynamic response. The velocity curve 5 in pad settings
seemed to help. Cymbal pads feel a little akward to me and don't really compare with acoustic cymbals in terms of response and feel, but they work and they do sound good. The different feel seems to be less of an issue when using phones.
Learning and practice features are good but instructions too terse and disjointed, no voice library documentation at all - sorely needed.
Module seems complex at first, gets easier as
Users may wish to do 3 simple mods to correct
these mechanical issues found when playing:
1. 3' dowel or rod ran through bass pedal
and tied to uprights will stop forward
creep of pedal.
2. As designed, cymbals cannot be placed in
ideal locations directly above uprights.
By making and adding brackets you can
attach clamps to top of uprights so that
cymbal rods slide up and down inside
(the post top cap pries off easily)
3. Since module would support a 3rd
mounted tom, the module mounting design
should allow placement under and in front
of the crossbar with 3 toms above it -
you can easily add PVC to move module to
this position and it will still clear
your knee when playing bass pedal.
Overall very happy with kit, no serious deficiencies found at all, mechanical issues were easy to correct with simple mods. Strong and
very portable even fully assembled. Good value, sounds fine, expandable, easy to use, fun and satisfying to play. my rating 4.5 out of 5
