Alesis DM8 USB Kit passes the test in the Studio and on the Stage.

Features:

For the price this Kit has far exceeded my expectations. I played out with it for the first time last night and the sound and versatility gave our 3 piece rock band a whole new dimension. My ultimate situation would be to play out with both Kits, my acoustic set is a vintage Ludwig Marine Pearl, but we only play a few venues that would allow us to take up that kind of space. The best part about the DM8 is the fact that an over 50 rocker like myself, with neck and shoulder problems, can work less and still get the dynamic sound this Kit provides.

Quality:

The voices and kit sounds are excellent. Plenty of room to create custom kits. Takes awhile to get pads and cymbals locked down but after a couple songs, and I still play hard, they show where they need tightened and stay put. Rack is sturdy. Screws that hold harness cable into module are flimsey. Will strip out easy. Real easy to move.

Value:

Bought it on sale. Matched a coupon. Got an additional discount on a price match for Black Friday. It pays to shop.

Overall:

I can play longer with less physical after effect. We have written songs around the voices and Kits that the DM8 provides. Alesis does a great job of reproducing drum and percussion sounds as well as providing a wide range of accompanying sounds. The module is easy to use and the manual is easy to follow.

Awesome Drum Set

Features:

Tons of samples and like it says they are multi sampled so there are different sounds for each thing. it has the ability to add up to 4 add ons if you use a splitter like i did. i was able to add more cymbals to it with very few problems once i went deeper into the settings and calibration section.

Quality:

rack is a bit shaky, but everything else is great. sound quality is awesome and sounds very realistic

Value:

I got is for a deal.  It is definatly worth every penny. very silent if you don't want to keep the neighbors up. i wouldn't have minded paying full price if i had the money.

Overall:

great electronic drum set with great feel and sound
