I bought these to see if they would hold up to my playing style; hard. I've used them for about 6 hours of playing. They do create more vibrations with everything they are connected; i.e., hands. One thing I've noticed is that after about 10 mins, I think due to warming up, they "feel" floppy. I'm used to Aheads. With Aheads, floppy is not good. It equals broken. A bit disconcerting. However, they are not broken. They are lighter than what I'm used to playing, but I think I can adapt. They sound good on the cymbals as another reviewer has stated. I have a Zildjian Projection Crash that I think could break the sticks. So far, they've held up. I wish that MF would sell the grips for them. I bought another pair that has them from another vendor. They add balance to the stick and are reusable. Overall, I like them. In the long run, they'll be cheaper.
And something for those who play hard, if you break these, play the stick in your hand and not the one in your head. I have been using Aheads for close to 8 yrs. I've broken every single one. Why? Because It's easier to play hard with them. How many sticks/heads/cymbals have we destroyed because of our style? Stop blaming the stick/head/cymbal. It's the player.

No durability = stick (ha!) to wood

In terms of feel, I thought these were pretty awesome. A little lighter than wood, perhaps, but not enough that it was a noticeable difference for me.But durability? That's a joke. Yes, I hit pretty hard, but I seriously broke a pair halfway through a show and started seeing the other pair cracking down the seams 2 days later at a different show. Good thing I still brought wooden pairs as backup; I was otherwise planning on relying on these as my 2 main pairs. It would have been great if they HAD lasted even a month as other have mentioned in reviews, since I probably go through a couple pairs a week, but these couldn't even last more than a few songs. Forget it, I'll spend 2 dollars less per pair and deal with replacing them as often as I always have. Maybe I got a bum pair or two, but still, what a disappointment.

Comments about Aquarian formula X-10 Rock Drumsticks:
These sticks last forever, and have a real nice feal to them. I did have to take some sandpaper to the grip ends to increase grip, they where a little too smooth but other than that, great sticks. They are a bit heavy, but that helps to really bring out the tone of the drum. At first did not like the weight, but after playing a couple of sets, I love how they make my drums sound. A++++
Comments about Aquarian formula X-10 Rock Drumsticks:
I like these sticks because, for me, they last a lot longer than wooden sticks do and they also have a nice bounce off the head. Their only drawback is that they make your drums sound different than wooden sticks, so, you will need to retune your set to these or any sticks made of this sort of material. I need to retune my drums a bit lower and open up the dynamics a bit to achieve a similar sound as I get using wooden sticks of comparable size. Its like if you are playing an accoustic guitar and you switch from a medium pick to a thin.

These sticks hold up great, they give you a great rebound and they look pretty cool.

Comments about Aquarian formula X-10 Rock Drumsticks:
dont buy unless you dont care about the way your drums sound or unless you use an electronic kit
these stick do something that deadens the sound of the drum. I'm not sure what it is but a drum hit with one of these sounds drastically different (in a bad way) than the same drum hit with a wood stick.
even though they dont work well, they are still extremely durable as stated
Comments about Aquarian formula X-10 Rock Drumsticks:
I'm gonna come right and say it...I play heavy. These sticks have taken everything i've thrown at them. I literally can not break these. Trust me, i've tried.I took a well-worn size 5A stick outside, and smashed it hard against the pavement, with all of my might, dozens of times. It would not be broken, and was barely dented at the tip.- The volume produced between the drum heads vs. the cymbals is pretty even, one doesn't overwhelm the other.- The tone produced between being used on the drum heads and cymbals seems very mid-range.- Switching to any other wooden stick, the immediately realized how much lighter the aquarians were in comparison

I finally broke one of these sticks after about 3 months, but they're still the best I've ever used. They're not too heavy, sound like vinyl tips on the cymbals, and last much longer than wood sticks.
Comments about Aquarian formula X-10 Rock Drumsticks:
I've had a set of the 5A's for about 15 years now. They sound warmer(not as much "bark") on drums and cymbals than regular nylon or wooden-tipped sticks(and I've used all brands), especially in recording sessions. I will purchase more of these 5A's.
Comments about Aquarian formula X-10 Rock Drumsticks:
I own a pair of 5a's and I love them. I started out with regular wood 5a's and broke about a pair a week, but these sticks last me a good 2 months. They have a little different feel from wood but you get used to it after you play a few times. I think they even have a better bounce than wood. It also makes your cymbals sound better. They do have a higher price than normal sticks but I accually save money. Good buy.
