Just Fantastic! Period!
Does exactly what it is designed to do. I had an Aquarian Bass resonant head, with a 4 inch sound hole. The mics being shoved in had tore the edges over time. I bought this, cut the hole to 5 inches and installed this port hole edge protector. PRESTO! Back to new. Plus it looks cool. Can't ask much more than that! PERFECT.
It is what it is, works great.
It was 6 bucks! Need I say more?

If your resonant bass drumhead has no sound hole, just buy this. Great buy.
Hole is perfect for what you need. I found the center of the drumhead, moved slightly down and to the right and stuck the cut out on. I would tighten up your front resonant bass drumhead more than usual before you apply the Port hole so when you cut into the head it will be taught and no slack with be caught under the cut out.
Two color options are good to match most any resonant bass drumhead. Material is extra hard which provides extra support to the rim of the sound hole.
Super cheap for something that is a must if playing while micing the drumkit. They actually sent me two for the price of one..Idk if that is a mistake on their part or what.

Very easy to cut out a hole. Perfect for micing which is it's purpose. The ring stays stuck on as extra reinforcement around the hole.

I've used this port hole 5-6 times for cutting holes in my bass drum heads and it works great every time. Super easy to install and ensures a clean and round hole every time. Dont' even think that you can cut a semetrical hole without one of these. The size is perfect for micing and the reinforcement ring makes cutting into the head very easy. Just get an exacto knife and you're ready to go.
