never heard more subsonic bass come from a kick drum. This resonant head makes me a believer not only in keeping your front head intact but in the regulator. The muffle ring towards the center portion of the head IMO keeps the head in motion longer while at the same time centering the pitch so what you get is deep controlled lowend. amazing sounding head!!

First of all, this is an awesome resonant head. Once it's stretched out and is staying in perfect tune, it's amazing. I didn't realize it had a muffling ring though, and I thought the picture shows the front. Turns out that the white ring isn't just a cool design like I thought, it's actually the back of the head where the muffling ring is. The only reason this was a problem for me is that I was going to put 2 4" port holes on each side of the muffling ring, which I managed to do, but it was a pain.I use this head on my pdp fs 22x18 kick with a superkick II as the batter. It sounds incredible! It is insanely loud, especially for being 2 muffled heads, AND I have a pillow in there too. Each time you hit the pedal, it's like a punch to the sternum for people close by, which is always good :).Overall, it's a great head, it just wasn't quite what I thought it was going to be. I'd recommend for use with the superkick if you want a huge bass drum sound.

Awesome head that compliments the Aquarian Superkick II. These 2 heads work together to give you a real "bassy" sound that is still defined and controlled. The perfect bass drum sound. These heads will make the cheapest set sound awesome.
