Comments about Aquarian Response 2 Drumhead:
Got myself a set of Aquarian Response II clears for my 8", 10" and 13" toms. The 8" doesn't have much resonance due to its small size, but all of the toms sound absolutely incredible with these on the batter and Aquarian Classic Clears as resos! These heads are great for me since I play a wide variety of music, they sound fantastic with rock, metal, funk, jazz, blues, pop, you name it!

Not only do they look good, but they produce a full deep and rich sound with amazing sustain. They are perfect for 13 inch toms or smaller! As for 14 and bigger diameter drums, I recommend aquarian performance heads with the dot in the middle, because these heads might have too much sustain/ring for bigger toms. These heads took less than 10 minutes to tune and they simply sound amazing. I tried many other brands but nothing comes even close. I use these with classic clear black resonant heads and they make a perfect combinantion.

I purchased the Response 2 heads for my 13 and 16 inch tom for my Tama Rockstar Custom. Took awhile to get them tuned. Can definitely say that the heads can be tuned to all various pitches with no problem. Highly resonant. A little bit too much to my liking, so I added some Aquarian Rings to them and they sound quite punchy. These heads are really great for someone on a budget, since Remo and Evan heads are a little bit pricier

this tom head is amazing. the best head from any company. and im not bias to aquarian or remo or anyone. i try all heads looking for the best sound and this did it. from my first kit i got a garage sale to my $2,000 kit, these heads will amaze you.

Aquarian Response 2 Clear Heads have made my day. After trying numerous brands and types these heads have finally given my somewhat dubious mid-level 80's Pearl's some character.My largest mounted tom, a 10x13 was dead and now is alive!My floor tom previously sounded as if I was hitting a hollow log with a rubber mallet, but now has a nice deep tonal quality and I am impressed, and all with very little tension as advertised.You can barely crank these heads down and they sound sweet, which will allow for multiple tuning levels, as they can be tuned up higher as I did with my 7x12.Can't comment on playing at gigs, as I just play at home, but would bet these heads would sound just as good live. Low tension tuning may require some added attention, and the clear heads do mark up easily, but the sound quality is worth any compromise made.Changing to these heads can improve a lack luster sounding set of drums, and enables a wider range of tuning capabilities, all in all, a win win deal at a reasonable cost.Great heads Aquarian

Just threw these on my Yamaha YD after having some various old heads on there from the previous user. This was my first time changing heads and I did a bunch of studying before I put them on and got them all equally-tempered and tuned pretty well. The heads are loud and reverberous, clear, and watery. The floor tom is thundering, where as before it sounded papery and weak. Overall, though not amazing or ground-breaking, they are simply a decent 2-ply head with tons of great overtone and clear, cutting tone. I am using the 12, 13, and 16 tom batter heads. Haven't tried the snare head yet so I can't compliment. Also note, as I said earlier, these were the first set of heads I have used and mainly bought them because of the good reviews on this site. Next time I may try Evans because I'm curious what they are like. That being said, these heads are a great replacement head. Recommended if you're looking for more cut-through in your toms.

I've been playing since 1972 and this is simply the best snare head that I've ever owned! I can tune it however I want to and it still sounds great! When I record there are no unwanted overtones. Snare buzz is low, but enough exist to give you a great sound I found that I liked to tune my bottom head loose to get the best sound. When I get close to the rim I'm in heaven! Rim shots are loud and distinct with only a light attack. The name "Response" says it all! I love it when I Tune it loose, I get a great sound with almost no ring.

I just put these heads on my kit and I'm fairly impressed. The sound was exactly what I was looking for and the head is very durable. Now my sound is just right for playing conditions, not too much overtone but not too little. It can take a lot of hard hits. Good buy.
