Great attack, and consistent tone from drum to drum.

This Response 2 is a 2-ply ebony head that can be tuned tight or loose and played hard or soft and you'll hear every beat. It is manufactured with Aquarian's Vacuum Process that eliminates air bubbles and wrinkles between the two plies. Full sound, great attack and consistent tone from drum to drum.

Safe—T-Loc hoop
This hoop system prevents slippage inside the hoop so that the head does not de-tune during a performance and will not pull out. Tuning is consistent and the head stays in tune.

Sound Curve Collar Design
This design allows the drumhead to seat perfectly on the bearing edge. No wrinkles even with loose tuning. It conforms instantly to any shell design and makes tuning fast, easy, and more accurate.

Triple-Locking System
This unique system provides drummers with previously unheard-of advantages in resonance and playability. Firstly, holes are punched in the bottom of a U-shaped channel formed in the drumhead. These holes allow the epoxy to flow into the "Safe-T-Loc" channel. Secondly, the T-Ribs that form the Safe-T-Loc channel prevent the epoxy and the drumhead from slipping and pulling away from the hoop. Lastly, the Locking Shoulder acts as a "stop" to ensure the correct collar height for the drumhead.

Features:

It hard to give a 10 for features on a drum head, but these heads are so great that I will!

Quality:

I can give a 10 for quality. I examined the heads closely before I put em on my kit. They were really clean and solid looking. Nice oil pattern underneath.

Value:

I'll give a 9 for value only because I bought five heads at the same time and it emptied me for over a hundred beans. I did get four response 2 heads. 8, 10, 12, and 16 inch. And also a Super-Kick III. All in black. But all the heads seemed to be of very high quality.

Overall:

WOW! After over two years of trying multiple different heads, I've found the ones that I'll use for the rest of my life. I didnt get to try the 8 inch head yet as it wasnt in stock. But ill be gettin it soon. As far as the 10, 12, and 16..... After gettin em tuned right, I was truly amazed by how good they sounded. I bought the black models because I wanted to go all black with my ebony finished Gretsch Catalina Maple 6 six shell pack. Black on black looks sweet! And sounds better than it looks! These heads really made my toms sound cleaner and deeper.

i just got the aquarian response 2 heads and they sound great. easy to tune. i have had romo ebony pin stripe heads, and evans ec2s, that i just swiched out for these,what a diffence they made to my kit . With the remos they sounded to muffled and sounded like i was hitting a box. Ec2s sounded good but a little brighter. Don't get me wrong i love evans drumheads and have used them for years, but could never find the sound i was looking for. The response 2 are what i have been looking for deep sound, great attack, and stick feel. I got the 10, 12, 14, 16 inch heads.the heads are a little more in price than most other heads but worth the price. So very happy that i got these heads.

These heads look amazing on my set. Like actually, i was afraid because my shells were black and i didn't really know how it would turn out.  They sound so amazing - the 16" floor toms have a deep punch thats perfect for finishing off any roll(: My shells are some no name brand but these heads make it sound so amazing. Okay, enough bragging about these; just go out and buy them. Oh one con is that they mark a little easily since they are black heads after all. It's alot more noticeable than normal heads, but thats to be expected!

just got this today,i got to say it looks awsome!!!! this is a must buy! i got the 10 inch, and it sounds amazing compared to my stock heads, but the head does sound a little muffled and doesnt resinate as much. i think its  cause its a 2 ply, and its coated,(thats like 3 plys!! :o. but after like 30 seconds of tuning i got it to sound really good. i am going to buy these for the rest of my set, and also get the hi velocity ebony snare head too! go aquarian!!! :D
