Aquarian Super Kick II Drumhead

I was forced to use the Aquarian Super Kick series because I destroyed every Evans and Remo head I bought; the hammer would pierce the head. I asked the boys at Guitar Center for the most durable head, and I was pointed to Aquarian. That was 10 years ago, I never switched back.

I currently play a 20"x20" virgin kick with a Superkick II strapped on, and my god how deep does it sound. It's an air cannon of low-end power.

With this head, you get what you pay for. It's more expensive than the competition, but it sounds great because of the built-in dampening ring, and it will last forever. Which, to me, is important, because the kickdrum head should be the last head any drummer should have to replace.

This is an awesome head for an awesome price. It gives you the nice thud you need. At first you may experience a little bit of resonance, but after you whip a port hole on, you'll notice a big difference. It's very durable and you feel the punch of it every time you hit. Put a pillow or foam inside your bass and you'll notice that it will sound amazing. The pillow/foam will create an absorbing effect that makes the attack much quicker and eliminates resonance. This is a great product to buy and its not too expensive if your worried about money. i recommend you tune this head lower because it sounds much better when kind of loose. If you like playing rock or metal. This is the head for you.

I've tried quite a few kick drum heads in the past and this one is amazingly deep and responsive. I play with a double bass pedal, mostly prog-rock and some tech-metal. I think this is going to be my new go to for kick drum heads.

Seems to be holding up well so far, but I can tell where the beaters hit it may be a problem area.  I intend to put beater pads on it soon though.

Bought this head (Aquarian Superkick II 22in.) becaue I accidently put a beater through old head I had on, and I must say forthe price it was almost like stealing it.  Very easy to tune with not much tension which was nice, however it was very resonant but that could have been because I don't have a ported resonating head and it has a dent in it.  Luckily I had the foam that was inside the drum when I got it so I just threw it back in and the resonance was cleared up quite a bit.  It has a very nice low thump that you can almost feel in your gut, most definitely because of the double plys and integrated dampening ring.  Only problem I had with it was getting the drum tuned exactly how I wanted it, I'm pretty sure that this was mainly because of the crappy resonating head I have.  If this drum head is good enough for Chris Adler it's good enough for me, and it lived up to all my expectations.
