      OVERVIEW

This Tru-Bounce Practice Pad provides an active playing surface of specially selected neoprene for a true and accurate response. Comfortable to play on without the overly-springy feel of traditional gum rubber. Even at the softest volumes, each stick note is articulated and can be heard. The result is a more accurate rebound that helps to develop control, strength, and speed. It makes you work a little harder (but not too hard) when practicing.

Enclosed with the Tru-Bounce pad is a free pair of “perfectly balanced” graphite practice sticks which are ideal for practice pad workouts. Also included is a teacher-approved rudiment sheet and two fact sheets by Roy Burns, which cover some warm-up exercises and tuning tips.

Perfect your rhythm with the Tru-Bounce.

Comments about Aquarian Tru-Bounce Practice Pad:

I like the pad and sticks very much. The sticks are thicker and heavier than the wooden sticks I play with, and by playing rudiment strokes slowly and repetitively, they help form proper hand and wrist motion and build muscle memory. My stick control has improved noticeably. Using the practice sticks also makes it easier to differentiate the quality and playability of different brands and styles of wooden sticks.

I would suggest making the sticks silver instead of black so there's a visual contrast between the sticks and the pad. I use that visual contrast to help me observe and evaluate the stick motion as I play so I can improve my mechanics as needed. Reading the blur of the stick motion, I can see when the strokes are out of proper plane or losing a bit of efficiency and control as fatigue sets in.

I would have easily given this 5 stars except for the fact that the pad gives off a hefty dose of the classic overseas skunky rubber/plastic odor. I'm keeping it on a snare stand, hoping the odor will eventually dissipate. Either that, or I'll drum the smell out of the pad with constant practice.

Comments about Aquarian Tru-Bounce Practice Pad:

As a long time fan of the Aquarian brand I searched to see if they made practice pads and immediately found this, (and a couple of variants). I chose this one because almost all the reviews were 5 star, because of my past history with Aquarian, and to best suit my needs, (and to no surprise I was not dissatisfied in the slightest). The surface has been great so far, consistent feel anywhere on the pad, good response, and pretty realistic rebound. The bottom is covered with a similar padding that will allow you to place it on about any surface with ease. It also sits quietly on my snare and has never moved from where placed on any practice sessions, so if you prefer practicing at your kit this is a no brainer purchase as you can just drop it in place and have at it.

The sticks that come with this pad are actually pretty great too. They are much quieter and produce considerably less vibration than my regular sticks, and this lets me be able to practice longer with less fatigue. They are pretty much exactly as described, a little front heavy and a bit harder to get rebound from, (but not too much) and I personally feel this helps make my practice time more productive.

The warm-up exercises that come with this are actually pretty darn useful and well thought out. I highly recommend trying them!

If I had to look for a complaint, the only two things I can come up with are:

      1. For the first several days it had a moderate chemical/rubber type smell that my wife found rather unpleasant, (but it really didn't bother me).

      2. I couldn't get my extra snare stand to adjust in enough to clamp down on the pad which forces me to either place it on a surface, or to use it with a snare. This isn't a big problem for me and I'm sure newer snare stands will adjust down to it's size (12"). So even thought I feel this is more of a limitation of my hardware, I still felt it was worth mentioning in case your hardware is older so you wont have any surprises.

This is a great practice pad. Very responsive just like s snare drum would be. The sticks are weighted a little bit so they give you a nice warm up before switching to regular sticks.

When I called because the practice charts were not included in the package a very nice customer service representative spoke to me and promised to forward my complaint on to the department that handled that. They came through and sent the charts and some stickers. Since this was a gift for my grandson, I was very pleased. Now he is using the practice pad every day.

              Thank you so much!

Excellent pad. Has a great feel and response to just about any stick I practice with. The weighted graphite sticks that come with the Tru-Balance Pad are kind of enjoyable to use also. Good speed builders.

Comments about Aquarian Tru-Bounce Practice Pad:

own several different pads, never enjoyed practicing on any of them. I received this in the mail the other day and can not stop playing on it. The sound is great, the feel is even better. Best yet, it is round like a snare drum, go figure, brilliant idea. The bounce is realistic but what is best about it is it sounds clean. Every stroke, so you can adjust the pressure in your wrist to clean up rolls and work better on your technique. I can not get enough of this pad and enjoy practicing with it. I would have liked to have it mount on a stand, but I found it is louder if not on a hard surface. Buy this pad, you will not regret it.(Playing for 33 years).
