I was skeptical about trying attack heads again since the last time I tried them was when they first came out in the early 90s when they were horrible and I litterlly wore them out in one rehearsal. However, these are not the same heads they were back then. These heads are just as good as Remo or Evans, and the price is much much better. I have a 6 piece kit that I had to buy an extra 14" clear ambassador at GC to finish off the kit, and these clear single ply heads sound nearly exactly like the clear ambassadors. I don't really think they're any louder like the company states, but that doesn't matter to me. Drums are loud period. The kick and snare head especially in this deal are top notch. This kick drum head is one of the best sounding ones I have heard in a long time, and the snare head has a beautiful open tone with tons of sustain. I'm no noob, been playing drums for 24 years. My only wish is that they had this same pack in a coated version, but the clears sound awesome too. I'll be buying attack heads from now on.

The Attack Standard Drumheads are far and away the worst playing and sounding set of heads I have ever owned. I have played Remo, Evans, and Aquarian and the Attack Heads are nowhere close to sound or quality of the others. The response on the bass was terrible...I made several adjustments to my DW 5000 pedal and nothing...I just ended up dead, flat sounding bass and a sore leg. The toms and snare sounded just as bad. The only thing these heads have going for them is the price, but is just a waste of money. Remember, "You get what you paid for," and this case that's not much. When I first struck the floor tom during tuning, it left a huge dent and I am by no means a "heavy hitter". They lasted about week before they were completely unplayable, so I threw on my six-month old Aquarian heads and they still sounded and played better than the Attacks did when they were brand new. Only reason to buy these heads is if selling your kit and you need some cheap replacements to impress (fool) the buyer. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more for some Evans or Aquarians. You will be disappointed with these.

Comments about Attack Standard Drumhead 5-Pack:

I needed new heads for a drum set I had found on Craig's List. Was very pleased when I installed these heads and tuned them up! They are durable enough for my style of playing. Sounded great too! Glad I saved money purchasing this drumhead pack.

Good Drum Heads

By Spence-rlKvy

from Clearlake, CA

Comments about Attack Standard Drumhead 5-Pack:

Pros:
Cheap
Durable
Sound Good
Neutral:
Better for higher tunings
Cons:
Scuffs easily
I bought these in order to replace the stock heads on my no-name drum kit. I love all these heads, especially the bass and snare. The bass has good punch and fullness, and the snare really cuts through. These are single ply, so they are more designed for higher tunings, and are more open and resonant (especially the toms), so they do not really have a sound for heavy rock or metal or something. If you're poor and/or like the sound of single plys, these are awesome.
I am a heavy and fast hitter, and i've had no problems with denting or tearing. A lot of scuffing, but that's only visual.
These are a great value. I would put these on the same level as remos and evans. These just are the bare minimum; stripped down with no fancy muffling or rings or whatever.

Buy Evans or Remo

By Drmnmad

Comments about Attack Standard Drumhead 5-Pack:

I was sucked in by all the great reviews and sad to say these drum heads are crap! I replaced my 12 year old Evans G2s with these ATTACK crap heads and I busted the 14" tom head at the 1st practice and the snare head busted in the middle of a show. Looks like I will be putting my old Evans back on.

Comments about Attack Standard Drumhead 5-Pack:

these heads are straight up g. i threw them on my drums as resonent, and they were half the price of remo ambassadors and sound great. tourqe them down, and no need for muffling, its a great CLEAN SOUND. and bass is wonderful. its NOT TONELESS, and you will need some dampening for it, but do you ever not for any bd head? i recommend these to anyone who wants a crisp, clean, well balanced sound all around. your drums will sound pro fo sho.

Comments about Attack Standard Drumhead 5-Pack:

After searching for new heads I decided to give these heads a try I mean If i didn't like them I'd be out like 30 dollars or so..no big deal...Well was i surprised when I put these on and actually used the single plys for reso heads and purchased 2 plys for top. What a beautiful sounding toms I have and just the right punch and attack that I like. Don't be fooled by the price they are worth every penny...why pay more when these are the best bang for your buck..

You'll get your moneys worth

By joeyevans2012

from Pottsville, PA

Comments about Attack Standard Drumhead 5-Pack:

My dad recently bought these drum heads for me on christmas. And so far they have been good to me. I purchased 5 tom heads, a snare and a bass drum one. The bass drum head gives and very loud and controlled thud which is what i like. The snare is very durable and tough. Now my rack toms get a beating from me so the effect is that they do mark up pretty easily and i have noticed bubbles on them but the sound is still incredible. I would highly recommend them for a metal drummer as myself.
