Good Choice for Drummers with Big Feet

You are going to read nothing but accolades about this pedal. So, I'll keep my review brief. Here are the reasons why it's such a great pedal

  1. It doesn't have a heel plate, so, it can accomodate my large and wide feet.
  2. It's heavy and durable
  3. It has a direct drive, so, the response is fast
  4. It has a smooth foot-board

I need to stress how important it is to have this pedal if you have big feet. I had DW 5000s before this, and they were just too small.

Features:

I'd been looking for a shaft-driven long board pedal and ended up going with this one because it seemed like the best value based on the features. Some people with smaller feet may be able to get away with using conventional short board pedals for heel-toe kick patterns, but as someone who wears size 11 shoes I need something like the Axis A-L.

Quality:

After ordering it I read some bad reviews regarding the "Sonic Hammer"  that this pedal is equipped with, but I just received my pedal and it  looks like they've updated the design and strengthened some of the weak  points. For example, in the picture it shows a round thumb screw that  adjusts the beater angle (a known point of failure after heavy use), but  mine has a heavier-duty wing nut instead.

Value:

The only other pedal that compares to this is the Trick Drums Big Foot, which costs significantly more. I haven't had a chance to try that one, but both pedals offer very similar features. This pedal is a steal.

Overall:

Overall the pedal seems incredibly sturdy and nothing has moved without  me adjusting it. It took me a day or so to get the heel-toe technique  down, and it'll probably take me a few weeks to be able to comfortably  incorporate heel-toe kicks into my drum parts. If you've never used a  long board I wouldn't recommend buying this pedal the day before a  show--give yourself some time to adjust.

Im a guy who likes exploring different options before I settle with one thing. I have owned the Demon Drives, owned Iron Cobras, and Pearl Eliminators, and this pedal by far is the easiest to adjust and the easiest to understand. It can go from powerful hits full of leverage to a fast smooth hit that will rebound with insane speed. Not only its this pedal amazing for blazing single strokes but the double strokes come out with ease due to the lengthened footboard. The possibilities are endless with this pedal. The variable drive lever is the greatest invention ever because it enables you to change the feeling of the pedal with a twist of your drum key. Not to mention, the pedal is very solid and aesthetically pleasing. Get this pedal guys! Its the best pedal IN THE WORLD.

Well lets see I have owned these pedals for over a year now. Thought I would give a review. To start with if I would of given a review lets say a month or so after buying these I would of said stay clear of these. But these are high dollar high quality pedals they are not your run of the mill pedals. Mastering these takes sometime, but if you stick to it after 6 or 8 weeks you will start to here and feel the difference. You will play faster and better than you ever have. I did replace the sonic hammers with my beaters off of my old Iron cobras. Just liked the way feel better. This is the third set of pedals I have bought and I must say by far the best.
