This stand is one of the best stand built today. first off very lightweight. I was surprised how light it was due to the aluminum construction, great for someone wanting lighter load for the end of a gig night. I then spread it out and rock solid construction. relatively easy to adjust and position. The knobs are easy to use and twist. the stability is the best I have ever experienced with the vortex design. the cymbal felt washers are top notch giving support with just enough flexibility in them for proper cymbal use. Only downside is one set screw at the bottom came with it loose and the only one that requires a drum key. with the allen wrenches that come with it should be an allen screw for more permanent hold IMO. But that is minor really, I plan on changing ALL my hardware to axis after working with this baby.

Axis makes the best drum hardware you can buy. It's well worth the little extra money. Axis boom stands are VERY stable. The vortex leg design, especialy when placed wide, is concrete. The round rubber footpads prevent any "walking". The only problem with the Axis Boom stand takes about 10 seconds to fix. When you get the stand, the tilter screw that controls the length and tilt of the boom arm is facing downwards. When put in certain positions the screw will hit against the stand. All you need to do is unscrew the tilter completely off, take out the boom arm, rotate the tilter so the screw is facing up, screw the tilter back together and put the boom arm back in.  Then you will have the best boom stand you can buy.
