Axis

A double version of the popular Axis X single pedal.

The Axis X2 double pedal is a pro pedal all the way. The X2 uses a zero-backlash linkage mechanism for unmatched control. The pedal can be split apart and used as 2 independent singles. Superior performance is due in part to the use of multiple ball bearings, improved heel design, and the power of direct pull linkage. A self-centering spring assembly allows for easy pedalboard adjustments. All parts are machined of structural grade aircraft aluminum and steel (no inferior cast parts), and the popular wide footboard design has been given a new brushed aluminum finish.

USA quality - pay and play

By Brother Justin

from Virginia

Comments about Axis X Double Bass Drum Pedal:

People complaining about price are not considering this product is made in the USA, and not in China where labor is paid a fraction of what it is here. Also, when side by side with comparable pedals, you are not paying a king's ransom. You are also getting USA quality, and I'm no flag-waver, I'm just stating a fact. The pedal as boxed will not please most cam/chain drive pedal users. A little adjustment is all it takes to prep the Axis to taste. First thing for most players who are used to some whip from beaters staring at your shoe tops is to adjust the beater angle back. The advantage here is that with the VDL you can adjust the footboard angle independent of beater angle -- you cannot do this with the X model of this pedal. I'm an ankle player, and I set these roughly 1/3" down from the top position on the VDL (where an X defaults) I've done the A/B and this does help for players with an ankle pivot style.I also own a single X model, and you could probably get by with the X if you either leave the beaters closer to the head or don't mind a high foot-board with the beaters dropped down. High spring tension isn't required with the Axis for anything but very fast singles: a little tension yields very good throw and return. These do mimic Speed Kings but are so much smoother and quieter you can't fairly compare them.Fit and finish is spartan but precise. The only thing missing here would be compression springs, but then you're looking at the Trick and a few hundred dollars more. The frequent complaints: (1) Wrenches. I'm not a fond of this either, but once these are set to your liking you're done with the allen wrenches for the most part. (2) Reliability. I don't see it. Keep the uni-joint on the shaft greased and the pedals level, end of story. You can't get more reliable. (3) Springs. Replace them with heavier springs for a few bucks once these wear, and they will. X vs A. The X has a wider footboard, and a single connector on the DD lever. the A has the double connector (like a Speed King) to accommodate the VDL.The A feels faster to me. I don't know which of the factors is behind this, but it just does. Not worlds faster, but faster. Maybe there's a problem with my X? I also prefer the thinner footboard on the A model. If you don't need the VDL, save some dollars and buy the X version. I prefer the having the VDL.In this price range (below the Trick and on par with higher-end Chain drives) this is the one, IMO, hands down.

great response. but

Comments about Axis X Double Bass Drum Pedal:

Although these pedals have great response (I have played every single branch of axis pedals) they're very heavy in feel. You get more of a leg workout using them than my pearl powershifters. They are NOT worth the price, its so expensive. here's the thing, you want speed. go for Pearl, Yahmaha, or even Tama. You want to waste cash? then play with Dw's or axis

Comments about Axis X Double Bass Drum Pedal:

If your looking for a pedal to help push the limits of your blasting abilitys or extreme drumming then you should buy this pedal. Its smooth and works like a charm. Goes perfect with the brutality of extreme metal. Esp. with the sensitivity, its perfect. No wonder extreme drummers use Axis!!!

It's amazing

By x518xHCx

Comments about Axis X Double Bass Drum Pedal:

This pedal is very good for the price. It has the trademark Axis smoothness and speed. The wooden mallets are very good. They make a great punchy sound, and even though they are very light, you still can produce alot of power. The drummer from Invocation of Nehek uses this pedal, and he said its the best one hes ever used. This is a must buy.
