I own 2 long boards as well as 2 regular Axis's. There is a difference between the 2. If you are a speed demon and looking for insane foot speed, then this is the perfect pedal. Great for you heel-toe & sliders. It's a solid well made pedal with a big foot board. I love it. Very light weight too. I don't use the sonic hammers on mine. I use a blue felt speed beater (ebay=$15.00) and get excellent action. Buy this pedal, you won't regret it.

I was very dissapointed. They just dont have the setting others do. Like the footboard cannot be adjust higher or lower. And another problem w/this pedal was that the bottom plate by the heel would lift up when playing causing my bass drum to move. I'm getting the iron cobras instead. One good thing about axis is their friendly staff, too bad the pedal wasnt what i expected.

I love my DW 9000. but my feet are too big to do the Samba beats. Imagine my surprise when the Longboared turned out to be faster and smoother.

I love my axis longboards I have recieved. Well worth the price. The beaters arnt that great due to how lite and dead they sound. I just swapped them with my old Pearl Eliminator beaters. But perfect for me. I nominate these pedals for anyone who has a large foot and dose heel toe.

In over 30 years of playing drums, this is by far the best pedal I've ever used. I've had DW, Tama, Slingerland, Ludwig, and others but nothing matches the Axis Long Board for speed and smoothness.

I got one of these when they first came out and was incredibly disappointed. I will say that these are incredibly well made and would probably never in 100 years break. BUT, I have no idea how somebody could possibly like the way these things feel. You can kick down as hard as you can, and it'll still make a weak hit on the bass drum. The beaters that come with them are so light weight and tiny, they sound horrible on the head and will quickly wear through the because it's like a tiny little pin hitting your head over and over. Even if you put a real beater on it, it still doesn't have any power behind it when it hits. If you were playing very soft music all the time, I could see one of these being okay, but other than that, stay away. They're way over-priced too.

I play with this one at my church. I have to say, HOLY CRAP!!! This thing is smooth and very fast. Two thumbs way, way up! It's got a great price, too!

first of all. i <3 this pedal. but the worst thing they did was make all the bolts (exept the beater)a hex wrench. an worse yet there all different sizes.

I recently bought 2 of these pedals, these pedals are incredibly smooth and super quick. Being that you have the extra 3 inches in the heel plate, the feel of the pedal may need some getting use to, but it's not difficult, the only flaw i could think is the velcrow on the bottom. It is very very strong, and can be a neusence when trying to put them under your bass drums. For maximum speed and response, i suggest tensioning the spring, all the way up. Deffinetly ideal for MetAL/Death metal playing styles.
