Looks great on my 28" green glass glitter bass drum!

Already put comments in the first section because I wasn't paying attention. One more thing though. If you need one of these right away, you are in trouble. Like so many other things I get from MF, it was back ordered for like 3 weeks. No bueno.
What can I say... it's an "O". The one I got is metallic green, and looks great on my off white Fiberskyn, on my green glass glitter bass drum.
If you need a port, and some folks don't, I recommend this one. It comes in lot's of colors, and a few sizes, not sure what they are, you will have to check for yourself.
This port holds fast, and secure. No rattling, won't come off. BUT you MUST install it correctly without forcing it. If you force it, you will end up buying a new head, a new port, and spend some money in anger management. I suggest going on youtube and watching a tutorial. There are a few good ones on there and it might save your sanity if you get help with it. It is not as imbecile proof as it looks, so trust me, watch a vid before you try to install this.
The only reason I didn't rate this the full 10 is because the instructions are vague.
It's plastic. But suits the need.
Forget how much it was, wasn't much though, or I would remember overpaying.

Garbage. You have to take the drumhead off to install, and then it doesn't snap together properly with the adhesive failing.... Buy the Remo and Aquarian instead.
Horrible... They don't snap together at all. These are more of a hassle to install than Remo Dynamos or Aquarian Port Holes.
The adhesive failed on the front mounting piece. Had no problem with the "female" ring or cutting the hole. Everything went wrong when it came time to install the front "male" ring, the adhesive failed and it only snapped on half way. The hole I cut was more than large enough. Now I have to take a quality Remo Dynamo of a larger size to cut over this just to be able to keep the drumhead.
Cheap plastic.... Failing adhesive... They are expensive

Comments about Bass Drum O's Bass Drum Port"O":
Recording a bass drum with a closed reso head often results in mud. It's best to mic from inside at the beater for a solid, clean thump. The Bass Drum Port "O" solves the problem. The installation is a bit tricky, as the two halves must be correctly snapped together on the first try. I suggest laying the head face down on a solid flat surface, and snapping the two halves together with a soft-faced hammer and a block of wood. The improvement in the mic'd sound is well worth the effort.

It was the wrong size; double check your measurements. I have a 22" kick drum and I thought the hole is 5", but the MF associate said they did not have a 5" port. I ordered a 4" & 6", but neither fit. Fortunately, I aldo have an 18" kick that should work for the 4". I will probably send the 6" back.

Bought this for my Ludwig CS Custom Elite drums. First time installing one on my nice Ludwig head. Here's how it's done first time perfect success. Take the back ring(female)place it on the front head to tape it down 4 places(the tape will hold it in place for cutting/cut right through the tape as you go)slowly in the spot you want your hole. Cut your hole. Then remove the ring set aside. REMOVE the adhesive the front ring inserting in precut hole. From the back of the head push into place the edge of the bass drum head till it firmly attaches. One half done. Next take the adhesive OFF of the back ring (female) as it will help you in snapping it in place. Push down as much as you can so it sticks continuing all around then from both sides of the head? Pinch it down all around and it will start clicking into place ?Securely around the matching front ring snapping down ?Nice? and Flat. Worked first time for me and looks AWESOME!!Got the chrome ^" OUTSTANDING!!

These work great. As an active musician, and having to mic the drums each nite, this saves some head damadge, and makes a great, and consistant point to mic from. Make sure you get the cutting tool, this saves time, and makes for a perfect install. I did find, you need to place the head on a small piece of wood, for cutting, and to use 2 screwdrivers to press the inner ring into place, hold with one, and work the other around the ring, otherwise you will never get the ring to lock in place. Hope this helps, I have installed 3 of these, finally got the hang of it,lol.

after reading many of the reviews for this thing, its sounds like people dont know how to think outside the box when trying to get this thing on. all you have to is put the front ring in place, and then put the head face-down on a hard surface, put the second ring on as much as you can, and then take a hammer and a flat head screwdriver and gently tap the ring around the outside edge until it snaps in place. it took me a while to think of this after wrestling with it, but after you get it on, its pretty cool lookin. but it is a little over priced for a piece of plastic.

I bought this ring for my bass drum and man!! does it look cool or what? well, I knew there was some cutting involved, I asked the guys at Guitar center in Arlington, TX to do it for me and man they did a good job. Overall if you have never installed one yourself, have an expert do it for you, don't risk a good piece.
Comments about Bass Drum O's Bass Drum Port"O":
Okay, I was really hesitant to buy this after reading so many reviews where people recommend removing adhesive from one side because it won't fit otherwise. This is just WRONG. Granted, it is very difficult to get the two rings to snap together. What I ended up doing was going to the hardware store and buying two small 1" C-clamps. Does the trick. Once you get it on (adhesive on both sides!) it resonates with the head perfectly with the head. I would definitely recommend getting these but also being patient and realizing that it SHOULD be difficult to snap together if you want it to not rattle.
