    Wooden tambourine with non-tunable organic skin head for the budget-conscious percussionist. The skin head allows percussive taps and thumb rolls; double-row jingles produce thicker, louder textures than single-row jingles. Very lightweight. Excellent for children, beginners, and school use. 2 sizes: 8" with 12 pairs of jingles, and 10" with 16 pairs of jingles.

      Organic skin?

      Organic skin heads? More like paper. My son broke the head first thing but to be fair he was using it as a drum and hitting it with a clave. I tore the rest of the paper head off and it sounds much better and is easier to hold. It had a hollow sound I didn't like at first. The 8" is a good size for kids and cheap enough. Really sounds better without the head so don't worry when the head breaks, which it will do quickly. If it's a skin they got it from a very thin-skinned person.

      Comments about Cannon Percussion Double-Row Tambourine:

      This item offers a great sound. If you like the sound of a drum you'll love this tambourine. It's like having portable congos without worrying with having to carry them. ***The only downside is, if you are a hard hitter like I am, the canvas gives, it pulls away from the rim and the tambourine looses some of its sound/thump**.Overall it's a great, affordable item to add to the collection.
