Comments about Cannon Percussion Jamm Club Series 5-Piece Jazz Drum Set:

First - the drums: They're fine. Great, in fact, for the price.
The cymbals? Plan to replace them with something that sounds like...well...cymbals.

Now the experience: I ordered this kit as a gift for a young, aspiring drummer in my family. The first shipment arrived quickly with significant damage to the shells. Looked like an issue with how it was packed, more than handling. It was returned and replaced - a process which took about 3 weeks.

The second kit was missing all but one of the lugs for the floor tom. I contacted Musician's Friend right away by phone, but heard nothing for several days, so I contacted them by email. The replies were polite, but they never arranged for replacements, which they said would have to come from the manufacturer, and might take some time.

Oddly enough, I found the manufacturer parts elsewhere online and bought them. Received them in 2 days.

got this set for a practice set, easy set up and is holding up well. no problems with unpacking or first time set up. The sticks that came with set were warped, but we have plenty of extra sticks laying around.

Drums arrived damaged (not by shipping) but still work. Hardware wrong; too many long bolts and not enough shorter bolts. Will use them in my studio but only as back-up on gigs.

This set was 30 min.from Box to set up-ready to go. For the price it is is a solid little performer. It even came w/a piece to place under the pedal to protect the rim. Cymbals though inexpensive were serevicable as seconds for crashes and some ride work in a pinch. No complaints here. You couldn`t go wrong for the price. Delivery was quick and inexpensive as well.

Comments about Cannon Percussion Jamm Club Series 5-Piece Jazz Drum Set:

My first set was a Cannon Jamm set, and believe me, I loved it! Still have it and use it, but am frustrated with how it's holding up. The main issue is the metal in the tom arms, it's not a strong enough metal, so when the toms are tightened onto it, it actually bends. This isn't due to overtightening, just tightening enough to get the toms to stay put (mind you I'm not some big muscular guy either, I'm a rather scrawny girl!)

I've been using the set for about 10 years now, so they very well could've improved this feature. Otherwise the set seems rather durable, I lug it back and forth to my church in order to use it on Sundays and it's holding up rather well (except for the wrap on the shells seperating due to the heat in my car).

Overall I would recomend this set for beginners, and for those who just need a sturdy practice set.
