I am still trying to get the billing corrected. I can't seem to get them to correct this and get it right. I have called three times and emailed twice. I keep getting the response they will look into it but so far nothing. The product shipped fast and I have no problem with that though it is a Christmas present so it has not been out of the box but overall I probably will not be back as I was charged too much and cant get a timely response to correct it.

Comments about Cannon Percussion Radical 5 5-Piece Drum Set:

I am disappointed with the customer service.Received a damaged part so we packed everything up in that box and sent it back as instructed.I was told specifically that as soon as the item was received in the warehouse it would be immediately received back in and the replacement would be on its way. For my trouble he credited my account for $10. Well still haven't received the replacement. I called to check the status of the replacement item and they told me it came in the warehouse on 4:18am on Monday and would be sent out. I then asked if it was shippped out within that same day. She said yes, it would be arriving most likely within 2 days. Then I asked if there was a tracking # to see where the item was at.The customer service clerk put me on a long hold then came back on the phone to tell me the item was still in the warehouse and it could take up to 5 days because of a back log and she would check to make sure that it was on the msrl list. Wow, was my response. She checked and placed it on that list for shipping out and was actually supposed to have been placed on ship out status. At this point I have been told a different story each step of the way. I asked, how they were going to compensate for the aggrevation she said, well I can credit your account $10. I said, ok then mentioned that I should be up to $100 in credit by the time I receive the item. Well, here it is going on 3 weeks later from original order date and still have not received the replacement part. How do you expect me to give a review of something I don't have! I am hoping the replacement does not have another broken part. I am surprised at the poor customer service being that this is a mail order type of business. Very disappointed with the process. This set was supposed to a birthday gift for my son's 10th birthday. The birthday came and went and no replacement item. I am beginning to wonder if we will ever receive the item. I am rating the overall process poorly due to the circumstances of the order! If it wasn't for the fact that my son likes the blue drums and is ok with playing them while they sit on the floor because we do not have the hardware for them, I would have returned the whole set and got a refund. I am completely disappointed with the whole process and keep wondering hmmmm I have $20 credit so what I won't receive a decent item why would I order again! As I write this review I am thinking or writing to the company to compensate more then $20! If and when we recieve the replacement items, we will then give a review on the actual drumset!

Nice set for the price. We needed a inexpensive set for our start up band at Church and these fit the bill. Would have been nece to have assembley instructions.

Bought these for my 14 year old son. Assembled quickly. One of the skins was slightly smaller than it needed to be, and the hi-hat tends to sway a bit too much. But, other than that, its a great kit. The cymbals are lower quality, but we kinda knew that going in. This is great for my son because he is a beginniner. Also, one of my other sons is in a band, so this is a great kit to have so when they have rehearsal here, the drummer can participate.

Thos drumset has just enough features to get started, but i was willing to spend a little more to get better quality stuff.
This was a great drumset, but the quality was eh. it was good enough.

Better than expected - Review based on price

Comments about Cannon Percussion Radical 5 5-Piece Drum Set:

Looking for something cheap to learn on or practice with? These are fine. Looking for a good set of drums that can be a main set for life? Obviously you should spend a little more. I am happy with my purchase and hopefully the neighbors don't mind too much either. If I was going to focus on being a drummer, I would have saved up for a good set. Being a guitarist with no money who wanted a drum set to bang on and do some scratch demos, these are perfect for me. I also considered an electronic set, but prefer the feel of the real thing.
The set is all inclusive of what you need to get started.

There are no special features, although for what I have seen in comparably priced sets available elsewhere, the hardware is a little more heavy duty with more adjustability. (That doesn't mean it is high quality. See Quality about that).
This rating is based on price paid for the set, not a comparison to more expensive sets. The quality was better than I expected. Everything fit together properly except that the hi-hat pedal L bracket needed a little tweak to get it to sit flat under the stand. The rest of the hardware stays in place (although barely), the screws all held, nothing was broken or stripped out. The bass pedal is a little sloppy, but again, price. To me it's way better than using a cheap plastic thing like cheap electronic drums or video games use, but eventually I will replace it once I get good enough to move up to a double pedal.

I think there was a tiny dent in the ride/crash cymbal but it doesn't affect anything and the cymbals are just for learning and practicing on anyways.

The rims (edges) on the shells had a few nicks, no sharp ones, but I would guess that you wouldn't find this on a more expensive set. Does it affect playability? No. You also don't see it once the heads are put on.

The hoops do not have precision ground or rolled edges, so they look a little rough up close, but again it is purely a cosmetic thing that most people probably wouldn't even notice. As long as you don't throw the hoops around they shouldn't bend or warp.

Sound quality: Well, you spent how much on this? It is a learning/practice set. It makes all the right sounds. Heads can be changed for better ones once these wear out. That is one of the most important factors to sound. The cymbals are also cheap, use them for learning and practice. Eventually you will want to choose your own set anyways no matter what you got in the beginning. At least when you break these practicing, you don't feel bad. (They are not going to break just because they are cheap, even expensive ones eventually break. I don't expect these to last as long as an expensive set would though.)
Depends on what you are looking for. For me these are a great value. I wanted a cheap set to learn on with no plans to become serious. Set came with everything I need to get started for less than the cost of a few pieces of hardware that you would still need to buy with the next step up. Eventually I will spend more upgrading things, but I would do that anyways and most of the things I would upgrade are things that wear out so I will use them until that happens. If I need to record quality drums, I can find a studio and use their set.

Not sure if you are going to stick with it? These probably have a zero resale value, where the next step up you could probably get half your investment back, leaving you about where you would be if you had bought these and given them away.

Comments about Cannon Percussion Radical 5 5-Piece Drum Set:

Pretty good kit, very pretty in person. I'm still working on getting the tunings right, but aside from the crappy cymbals and heads, a good value for a beginner, or a kid who wants to learn.
Much better quality drums than those "First Act" kits you see in all the stores.
Definitely look up basic instructions on putting it together, and tuning. You'll be mad if you get 75% done and realize you didn't put something on right the first time and have to take it all apart and start over. Lucky for me, I've been around drums for years, or I'd be clueless.
Comes with snare, two mounted toms, a floor tom, hi hat and crash cymbal, all stands, throne, and a pair of stick.
The cymbals and drum heads are crap. They'll work for a beginner, but you should definitely invest in new cymbals and drum heads as soon as you can.
There are NO instructions of any kind in this package.
If you have never been around a drum kit before you will be totally lost on how to put this together.
But there's tons of instructional vids and pages online that can help you.
As a guitar player that's been around drums for many years, it took me about 2 hours to put this kit together.
The actual drum shells seem to be decent quality. The cymbals are horrible. You might as well give them to a 2 year old and let them beat em up. They do not belong on a real kit. You can bend them in half like a piece of aluminum.
The hardware works, but it's not very high quality either. Upgrade these items and eventually you'll have a pretty good kit.
Good value if you're buying for a beginner. Though I'd rather pay an extra 50 or 100 bucks and get better cymbals and/or heads. Not worth the cardboard they were shipped in.

Lack of Instructions, warranty or tuning help.
As for the 5 piece Radical Drum Set, it appears to be a good to average starter set (based on my very limited knowledge). The items were properly packed and shipped quickly with not problems. I did not a few dings on the rims of the drums but we did not return them, my 11 was too excited and we felt if it did give us a problem we could return them later (as we purchased the two year replacment warranty). The only dislike I have was there were no assembly instructions, warranty information, tuning insite or anything. Just a hardware kit. For a starter set I think assembly instructions could be very helpful, luckily I'm not mechanically challenged! Happy Banging!
                    Average
                    Very Reasonable (caught on sale)
