Decent Set, Horrible Cymbals, no instructions.

Features:

Comes with snare, two mounted toms, a floor tom, hi hat and crash cymbal, all stands, throne, and a pair of stick.

The cymbals and drum heads are crap. They'll work for a beginner, but you should definitely invest in new cymbals and drum heads as soon as you can.

There are NO instructions of any kind in this package.

If you have never been around a drum kit before you will be totally lost on how to put this together.

But there's tons of instructional vids and pages online that can help you.

As a guitar player that's been around drums for many years, it took me about 2 hours to put this kit together.

Quality:

The actual drum shells seem to be decent quality. The cymbals are horrible. You might as well give them to a 2 year old and let them beat em up. They do not belong on a real kit. You can bend them in half like a piece of aluminum.

The hardware works, but it's not very high quality either. Upgrade these items and eventually you'll have a pretty good kit.

Value:

Good value if you're buying for a beginner.  Though I'd rather pay an extra 50 or 100 bucks and get better cymbals and/or heads. Not worth the cardboard they were shipped in.

Overall:

Pretty good kit, very pretty in person. I'm still working on getting the tunings right, but aside from the crappy cymbals and heads, a good value for a beginner, or a kid who wants to learn.

Much better quality drums than those "First Act" kits you see in all the stores.

Definitely look up basic instructions on putting it together, and tuning. You'll be mad if you get 75% done and realize you didn't put something on right the first time and have to take it all apart and start over. Lucky for me, I've been around drums for years, or I'd be clueless.

Radical 5 5-Piece Drum Set

| Review By: Corey Ross | 5 months, 3 weeks ago

Features:

As for the 5 piece Radical Drum Set, it appears to be a good to average starter set (based on my very limited knowledge).  The items were properly packed and shipped quickly with not problems.  I did not a few dings on the rims of the drums but we did not return them, my 11 was too excited and we felt if it did give us a problem we could return them later (as we purchased the two year replacment warranty).  The only dislike I have was there were no assembly instructions, warranty information, tuning insite or anything.  Just a hardware kit.  For a starter set I think assembly instructions could be very helpful, luckily I'm not mechanically challenged!  Happy Banging!

Quality:

Average

Value:

Very Reasonable (caught on sale)

Overall:

Lack of Instructions, warranty or tuning help.
