Although it's very light and seemingly fragile, it has a wonderful sound. The zils have fairly large holes in them, so they hang loosely, which creates more of a "shimmer" as compared to my Remo tambourine (which has very small holes, causing them to hang evenly in place, making a "tighter" sound).

hey, it's not like it was designed by NASA or anything. it's a tambourine. but it works and the quality is good. it's nicely fitted out and has good sound and looks like it will last a long time. it's bright white, but even sweaty dirty hands haven't yet discolored it, so yeah, for the price it's nifty.

Comments about Cannon Percussion Single-Row Tambourine:

Bought these for the children in my Sunday School class who love tambourines. These at first glance appear well made and look very nice but the heads do not withstand hard hits. About the second time they were used, the more experienced child who is an excellent tambourine player put a whole right through the middle of the head. These are nice little tambourines, but these are definitely not for hard little hands. I guess my next try will be the cheap plastic ones. They might hold up better. These are too expensive to have one broken on the 2nd or 3rd use.

Pretty cheezy is how I would describe it, but thats what I was going for. Gonna use it for audience participation on a couple songs. Bring up somewhat buzzed women to play tambourine with the band so their friends can take their picture, facebook it
and say how much fun they had and hopefully grow a fan base. Very light to use... some tambourines get kinda heavy and you have to work harder to keep the rhythm... not this one.

The first tambourine I recieved the nails in the head were rusty. With their great customer service, they replaced it in three days. This will be used as the head of a banjo ukulele. I have already made one and it is the best sounding banjo ukulele I have heard.

For the price, hey. I like the natural materials.

Comments about Cannon Percussion Single-Row Tambourine:

I am going to rate this a little better than average overall. I'm not going to use this as a tambouring, I'm going to use it as a head for a banjo ukulele. I have already removed the jingles and have worked out how to mount it to the neck. I think the nontunable head will make a very lite instrument with fair tone quality. the only problem I have with this tambourine is that the wood was chipped on the inside by the jingles holes. This, however; will not affect the sound of the instrument. Did I mension that it seems to have a nice tone for a nontunable tambourine. If your budget is low and you need a tambourine for nonprofessional use, I would recommend this one.
I bought the 8" size and it has a good construction design and nice jingles with a nontunable drum head of very nice material. That's pretty good for the price.
The materials were good quality, however the wood was chipped out around the inside of the jingle holes in a couple of places. The craftsmen were in too much of a hurry there. other than that, it's well made. and better than I expected for the price.
Very good value for the price.
