Overall i give this kit an 8. Great quality, low price, and includes everything you need to start, even sticks and a tuning key.
I only give these drums a 7 on the shells alone. Great sound, you can tell they're really good quality and have like 5 coats of lacquer over the shells. The smaller compact bass drum actually has alot of punch considering its 16'x20. I bet if they were mic-ed up they would sound amazing.
The toms sound great as well, maybe get those circular tom dampners might make them sound a little fuller, I just stuck a little peice of duct tape to each tom and they helped actually, if you know how to tune them right they sound great.
The cymbals though they come with suck really bad, they sound awful (if you're a first time drummer these might not be too bad,) Im an experienced drummer who had to sell my old kit and recently just got these ones as my rebound drums.
Definitly invest in new hi-hats and a 20'' ride for this kit and it would last you forever. The hardware it comes with isnt the thickest, sturdyest metal or aluminium used but they're better than not having free cymbal stands and snare stand and a throne.
the bass pedal is pretty good but its one of those that kicks really easy, im used to the ones with a little more give in the pedal but Im sure it could be adjusted, i just haven't tried yet.
The kit comes with pretty decent DDrum heads as well that probably should last 6 months or so depending on how often and how hard you play.
I recommend this kit for any new drummer, or any experienced drummer who doesn't have a lot of space for a kit or plays clubs alot and has to haul the gear around alot, definitly a lot lighter than a normal kit (obviously). This is like a perfect little jazz kit for any drummer. I'm pretty happy with them, I've only been playing drums a little more than 6 yrs but I'm glad to say I own these drums.
Great quality in the shells, as stated previously.
The value of these drums is an absolute steal. Im glad I got them when I did,
My girlfriend purchased this kit for our band and it sounds amazing even with the stock heads. Usually you would be afraid of "cheap all inclusive kits" to not be sturdy and be of low volume and quality, but I tell you these drums have power to them. Tune them nicely and you will get nice punchy toms, a tight punchy kick drum, and a snare that snaps. well worth the money will last a long time. I also own a newer ddrum diablo punx also an amazing kit by ddrum all aquarian heads and hardware. I used the D120b snare drum with my kit in the studio and it sounded top notch. we plan to use the whole D120b kit to record with in the fall !!!
This drum kit comes with everything you could possibly need to get started
the cymbals and hardware are not the greatest
the kick pedal is nice it has dual spring and sturdy
the shells are greatly constructed and sound really nice
This is a great value and you will never have to worry about ddrum skimping you on quality of there shells your getting way more than you pay for.
I bought this starter kit for my 17 year old and it has everything needed to get started right out of the box. Good quality shells... may need to upgrade the rest of the parts eventually. The only reason I dont give it a 10 is because there were no assembly instructions included (not sure if they were supposed to be included). We have very limited experience with drum sets and it would have been helpful. A quick look through utube helped us put it together. Overall, great value for the price and great kit to build on.
Overall, this set saves you money and sounds great. Also, a high quality set except when it comes to the cymbals provided.
Great set, shells are fantastic, however the cymbals absolutely are horrrible.
