I used this set for about a year before I started to improve it, worked great. I add a double bass pedal, changed batter heads recently and they sound as good as a set twice the price. If you're a beginner or picking things back up after going bankrupt, this is a great starter set.
basic 5 peice set. No frills. Hardware should be tightened before you put on the heads. Bass drum pedal good but springs were too heavy(personal pref.) Stands OK. Hi Hat stand OK as well. Cymbals, you could get a better sound from hubcaps, but for the price they are OK to learn on.
For what you get this is a good buy. I had some minor notches in the bearing on two shells, easily repaired. Snare drum shell had a spot on batter side where the layers of wood were sepperating at the bearing. This would be a cause for a beginner player to return the snare drum. Hardware was loose on most of the drums. As with any new drum purchase, inspect the shells carefully before you put on the heads. If you are not sure what to look for find someone to help. If you are a heavy hitter the heads wont last long. New batter heads made all the difference in my set.
Expectations not high for play out-of-the-box set for the price. Greatly exceeded my expectations. Spend a little time checking them out before you put them together but they have turned out to be a good set minus the cymbals, (sell them for the brass and use the cash for some better ones).

Standard beginner's set, not much to it
HiHat and Crash are low quality. The toms are pretty solid!

Comments about ddrum D2 5-piece Drum Set:

Based off the price and how everything you need to start jamming is included this is a great buy. Order shipped perfect no damage no pieces missing. There are no instructions on how to assemble but watching a few videos on youtube or something should help easily. The stock heads and cymbals are definately not the best but still yet sounds decent if you are a beginner drummer. It was very worth buying this Beginners kit.

Great value, everything you need to get started and fairly easy to put together. But, would be nice to have actual instructions with the kit along with tips on how to tune the drums.

Comments about ddrum D2 5-piece Drum Set:

Bought this set for my 12-yr old son to learn drums. I've been playing in bands for 25 years, play guitar and bass but I've been around quality drums for most of my adult life so I have a good ear for tone and recognize quality gear. I'm impressed with this kit, especially at the all-inclusive bargain price. The shells are built well and finished nicely - no rough edges to shorten the life of the heads. Assembly was relatively easy, I got my drummer to tighten the heads for me (68lbs is just right for the toms). The hardware won't stand up to heavy playing or abuse, but that's not what they're designed for. The cymbals are entry-level and seem a little thin, but again - it's a starter set. When the heads wear out we'll put on some better ones, and upgrade the cymbals.

        D2 5-piece Drum Set

        By tina sionne

        from Undisclosed

Comments about ddrum D2 5-piece Drum Set:

Overall we had to send the set back because one of the parts was bent and wouldn't fit. Wish we could have sent just the part, but the whole set had te be returned. Sucked due to the fact it took my 13yr old daughter awhile to put it together. However, I have to say, customer service for MF is really good. They are very helpful, pleasent and found all the answers to our questions. We will be getting the same set and hopefully this time it will be fine and the review will be more efficiant.
        totally cool looking.

        Great beginners kit!!

        By jake shaw

Comments about ddrum D2 5-piece Drum Set:

Put on some new heads! then it sounds great. The Kick drum sounds really really good with a blanket or something in it. The cymbals are trash though but thats expected as they are free with the kit. I have had the kit for about a year and my band uses it to practice. It works really well and sounds very good in the mix. I put on Remo pinstripes on the toms and Reme coated ambassadors on the snare. get some new cymbals and buy a new clutch for the hi hat. Other than that This kit is ideal for a beginner or anyone that needs some practice.
The shells are certainly not the best but are sturdy the hardware is decent and the stands work. The sheet cymbals it comes with will last about a month then the crash turns into a cheap china.
        great kit for the price!

The Best Drums for the price

        By GuitarGuy1996

        from Unspecified

Comments about ddrum D2 5-piece Drum Set:

Great for beginners and practicing, great value for this kit. Get it!
It comes With everything you could ever need!

Throne: Not the sturdiest thing ever for anyone over 100 LBS. But hey, at least it's something to sit on.

Kick Pedal: Double springs... I like it; except for the beater.

The cymbal stands (hi hat, straight cymbal stand) - aren't the sturdiest. You might want to replace them.
The shells sound great! Nice and warm! Even though the shells are wrapped, they still look a lot better than the pictures show. (I got the Blood Red set.) The cymbals are terrible though; I could probably get a better sound out of a pan lid. I would suggest replacing the snare drum though, it sounds terrible too. The toms sound better than a Ludwig kit I played on.
Everything you could possibly need or want is included in this set!!!

Good First Kit (Not an upgrade)

        By William Haines

        from Steubenville, Ohio

Comments about ddrum D2 5-piece Drum Set:

Recommendations - For first time players only. - Buy new cymbals ASAP
        - Will want to upgrade soon.
The Shells are 100% Basswood, which makes a decent sounding bass drum and floor tom, but that's about it. Higher toms are impossible to tune well. I've been useing this kit for 5 years, and I rememberthe hardware giving me problems before the first year was out. The Cymbals will give you something to practice on.
Fantastic concidering it's everything you need to start learning.
