The ddrum Diablo Combat Punx 5-Piece Drum Set meets the high-energy drummer's demands for gear that can take a beating and still deliver the goods. In creating the Combat Punx, Diablo's latest addition, ddrum set out to make a kit with a finish so durable, it could stand up to the most heinous abuse.
The Combat Punx kit features a finish of military-grade camouflage canvas that's heat-sealed to Diablo's 9-ply basswood shells creating a look all its own. The covering is stitched at the seam to prevent separation, and bonded to the shell with heat and pressure to prevent warpage; making it one of the most durable finishes in existence.
Upgrades include a 20" x 22" kick drum with maple hoops and 15-ply, 7" x 14" snare drum. 2 floor toms combine to give you growling tones at lower frequencies. With the Combat Punx in your drumming artillery, get ready to march into the punk rock battlefield and cry havoc.

This is a great set for the money....the snare(atttack 1 ply medium)has a nice crack and good low end....the toms sound awesome too. I use attack 2ply medium...Read complete review
This is a great set for the money....the snare(atttack 1 ply medium)has a nice crack and good low end....the toms sound awesome too. I use attack 2ply medium heads(top side) and 1ply(resonant)for my toms. For my Kick I use a Remo Powersonic batter. People always ask me the brand name and are quite impressed with the sound of the kit. All in all I'd say this was a great investment. If I had to say anything bad I don't think I could think of anything really, the kit is and other kits that I've investigated don't really measure up:) Ddrum is fantastic!!!!Im gonna get another DDrum kit!!PS Just to make sure I wasn't crazy I let a good friend of mine test drive it and he loves it too!!!

Great Sound/Look/Price but quality you get what you pay for is an UNDERSTATEMENT

This set in no doubt was a steal. I walked off the floor with it at my local store. Cymbals and all and some extras. Nice, Ehh, or maybe he knew the set had flaws. Major Flaws like the fact that if you play rock and with rim shots you are going to have broken lugs from the snare to the toms. All of mine have had some sort of repair to the lugs. Now, for the sound, great sound with little muffling the canvas wrap takes care of a lot of the overtones and ringing. But, you still need a good set of heads I used Evans. But, if you play hard don't buy this set! It is definitely for the beginner only maybe even a little kid under 12 yrs would have fun with this kit.
Camo wrap was a great addition to a otherwise cheap set. I think its the only other reason I haven't sold it yet.
Cheap lugs 'nuff said.
Great deal, no doubt, but better sets at same price. Just shop around.

Hello,awesome look, surely. But where is the great qualitiy? Allmost of my drums had damaged bevels, exfoliating chrome, off peeling finish, I am shocked about this poor quality, two of them need to get back to the merchant for change. Factory heads are terrible and needs to be replaced. Sound is acceptable after that. Hardware is average too, but thats not the matter. Not the good buy that I expect, only ordinary cheap china made drums with, at least, an extremly unique optic. Thats not cool, ddrum!

I purchased this last week and the snare with the stock head sounds great, but i did break it after about 2 practices. I just got all new heads (top and bottom) and this set sounds amazing. Definatelly a great deal for the money. The kick drum gives a really hard kick that sounds amazing. With the stock heads the toms wont really give that loud of a boom, but with new heads they roar. Also the one floor tom is 15" not 14".
This is a great set. The only drawback about this set is the drum heads it comes with, but change those puppies up with some good quality heads and you'll deff. get the sound you want. Its tone is deep and smooth, and the base sounds incredible. The cameo is really sweet too. Its awesome that it isn't a plastic decal and that its an actual canvas. This set is what I expected and more.
This drum kit is AMAZING!! The plaid is just what i was looking for. My friends and band mates love the look. def. a steal. buy it and you will be amazed too
I just received my olive drab Ddrum kit and am not one bit disappointed. Right away, I did change my snare head. The one that comes with it is very cheap. And I'm soon to change the heads on all of the toms. They dent very easily through hard play. Other than that, this kit is perfect. Even with the tom heads that come with it, it holds a very nice tone. The stands are nice and heavy and the other hardware is very sturdy. This was an incredible buy! I recommend it to any drummer.
After two weeks of play time this set proved its poor quality as 3 of the tom lugs broke apart. The sound of the set has a warm deep sound if you can keep it from breaking (ha ha). The arm that holds the hi tom in place puts a lot of stress on the lugs as well. If you buy this diablo set prepare to spend more on upgraded hardware.
When I bought this set, I thought it would be good. It was great. The bass drum sounds like a cannon, the snare has a deep focused crack with little to no overtone. The hardware is nice and heavy, and the bass drum pedal is responsive and powerfull. I would recomend this set to any "Heavy Hitter"
I have looked into this drumset alot over the past month and a half, and I really want to own it. The finish is very original, and won't be found for miles around. I've know DDRUM has existed for a long time but I quickly wrote them off as crap, but I'm starting to come around. Hopefully I'll own this unique looking set sometime in the future, and I find it to be easily attainable at this price, actually priced lower than some entry level kits from tama (at the musiciansfriend prices of course)
