First off, realize that this set can not sound professional no matter how much you put into it. you can make it sound decent, but that's about it.I bought this drumset because it was cheap, and cool looking. I needed another set that was cheap that i could gig with, and not worry about destroying it.If your looking for better sound, you're going to have to work for it. First of all, don't order this without ordering new heads also. On the toms i put evans hydraulics, an evans super tough (st) snare head, and emad and emad 2 bass drum heads. I'll start with the great things about this set.. The bass drum - with evans emad heads (batter and resonant), this bass drum sounds great. It's a cannon. The heads that come with it suck, i broke mine in a couple weeks. The Small Tom - it also sounds great, as long as you put a new batter head on it. I used the evans hydraulic... which looks awesome too because it's black. You can get a fairly deep sound out of the small tom, but it sounds best in the mid range.Price - it doesn't matter if you beat the crap out of these. you didn't pay much for them. The BAD.......... -you'll need new heads-hardware on cymbal stands WILL eventually strip out. I promise. mine started last week.-the floor toms are a bit difficult. you can get them to sound OK... but don't expect anything amazing.-the snare drum sucks. there's a groove in the shell under where the snares go. i don't know why they make it that way, but you need to sand it down, and then tune your snare as tight as you can possibly get it. then you have an ALMOST decent snare.-the hoops on the bass drum suck. mine aren't quite round.. which makes for a pain when assembling the drum.OVERALL-Look, i knew that I would get what i paid for. Be prepaired.. it's not going to be pretty at first.. but you can make them work nicely as an amature gigging set. I'm happy with mine.............. for now.

This drum set is very nice looking but the weird sizes are very hard to tune. the hardware is really messed up and breaks all the time. I have broken 3 snare lugs from just playing and I've broken the snare stand from just playing. Also the snare stand is a tallish stand but the hi hat stand is very short, so its hard to get it to a comfortable spot. The floor tom legs are really short so again it very hard to get the snare and in a good spot with everything else. The bottom head of the snare broke the day I got the drum set and then the accuatal snare broke and I had to gut an old snare just so this one would work. the pedal isn't very good and the beater broke after three weeks. the olny good hardware are the strait stand and the boom stand. the drums them selves dont sound good except the bass drum, which is the high light of the kit. i wouldnt waste your money on this kit, save up and but a tama kit, there solid and sound so much better.

THIS DDRUM IS WASTE OF $!

By The Dude That Regrets Buying this ddrum

from California

I bought this ddrum set two years ago. The hardware falls apart. YOu can never get the ring out of that snare. The snare stand is way to tall. This product has issues and i recommend a pearl or gretchs, cause they have a good solid beat and is good for beginner. I wasted $ and i hope you guys don't do the same.

The bass on this drum is amazing. I bought a Double bass Iron Cobra for it and new remo heads and it was good to go. Its a crazy set

Bass drum rocks, perfect for band practice even if your guitarists are deaf. The toms are decent, not alot of volume. But they do sound fine when miked. The wrap was applied well but I does have a cheap look to it. I would purchase this kit again.

this set is very good

By basicdrummerman

from minnesota

ok, so yes this set is good, but one thing you might want to do when you first get it is change the heads; the stock heads have a ring to them and hold that too long.another thing i did was got another tom for this just because i wasn't diggin the 2 floor and one mounted.but really the only thing you need to do is change the heads besides that, it is a very good set to start with cheap and good quality.oh and i love the bass drum on this set it creats just a loud thud to a bang.

Bass

By BreakDownTheSky17

The hardware was decent at best and I replaced the snare with a Spaun to match the greatest bass I've ever played. I put an Aquarian Super-Kick 2 on the bass and it's perfect. Wrapping on the toms, snare and bass is sub-par. The bass saved the whole set.

i been playing drums for a while and know how a good set is supposed to sound, the snare sounds awesome when tuned high, itll give u a nice high pitched crack, the tom heads suck so i put aquarian rings on 'em and they sound pretty descent, the bass drum is the best! i put a pillow in it and tuned it high resulting in a beatiful crunchy boom...overall its a great set to experiment on...

I used it today. The finish is beautiful especially the white. The sound and ease of hitting the toms is amazing for the price I would say worth it I'm definitely going to get a pair of these.

Pleasently Surprised

Ok, so first thing is first, this kit is absolutely amazing. The pictures didn't do it justice. When you see it in person, it sparkles and pops like crazy. For the price this is the highest quality kit you could get. First thing I did with this kit was to record a live solo for a TV commercial. Let me tell you, even with the stock heads, the kit sounded phenomenal. Now I would suggest that you get replacement heads. I now use Remo Pinstripe which make this kit sound like a high quality Pearl Export or something. Overall I am very pleased. This is a great buy.

The Perfect Jam

By OBaterista!

from Arizona, AZ

I have about a year with this kit, to tell you the truth, the first time I played it I didn't think it was the right choice, with a little change of heads it sounds phenomenal. The snare sounds full and crisp, the toms have the warm punch sound to them (that I love) and the bass drum... OHHH the bass drum: love at first kick. Such a deep, full sound as if someone was punching my heart :) Get this kit if you're on a budget, get this kit even if you're not on a budget, you'll fall in love :D

this is basically... amazing.

By Drummer4ever.

Ddrum did there best. Beautiful set in every way. The bass drum is canon like, and the snare has a nice crack. Toms create a great sound that drum kits in this price range do not give. I have been an active musician since I was a kid ( around 1975 ) and I havent seen a drum set in this price range perform this well. I would recommend this drum kit to anyone looking for a set that sounds as beautiful as it looks. 5 stars. Great for the price, great for beginners to intermediates on a budget, or have money and looking for a great set.

so yeah, when it comes down to it, this is an amazing drum set. especially for the price. i went from a yamaha stage custom set to this, and i'm not gonna lie it is way better! especially for heavy hitters like myself. but like everyone else said, you definately are gonna need new heads. but eveything else is amazing. and the finnish is beautiful!!!! i'd recommend this drum set to anybody!

so i ordered this set for my birthday and what a great gift to myself! the white/white (set i bought) is simply put, beautiful. the stands are soilid, bass pedle is smooth, but the hh stand wasnt strong enough for my z custom mastersound hats. the drums sound amazing. i have had friends with dw sets that did not sound as good as this. the only problem i have had is you really have to watch out when tightening the flortom legs because if you over tighten them the screw will strip. with some aquarian preformence 2 tom heads and evens bass head, and a hole in the front ddrum bass head, you will have a mind-blowing set!

Great set for the price

By The Sauce

from Great Falls, MT

This is a good set for the price, the bass drum sounds amazing with the heads that came with it although they won't last long. I would recommend getting the remo pinstripes for all the toms and an aquarian bass head for best sound. The hardware is pretty poor on the two floor toms. The snare isn't the best so you'll want to get a new one or just tune it the best you can. Overall the set looks and sounds great and you can't beat the price.

i love mine

By dcFpJikdJ

from West Memphis, AR

im not sure why the first few guys sets are bad, mine is great. i have played on dozens of drum sets and i still place these at the top of my list. the only thing that comes close is a pearl export that i had. the only thing that i did was put new heads on it(i recomend the remo 2-ply pinstripes)and i havent had a problem. but i love the deep tones, some people dont. if you take the time to sit down and tune them they sound winderful.

AMAZING!

This set is great great great. I use pinstripe heads, and an emad 2 on the kick. put in a small small pillow in the kick. and it is a cannon. it sounds unbeleivable. I didn't like the snare too much. But I have and 8x14 pork pie snare. An it is very nice. I play punk music, but I am in jazz band at school. I use A and Z custom zildjian cymbols. and this set sounds amazing with those. this set covers just about any type of music. Cymbol stands that come with it though are not very high quality, and the hi-hat stand doesn't rotate at the foot. So a double pedal doesn't fit well. But I highly recomend this set.

A good Buy

I just got it in the mail yesterday,Put it together sounded great, Well as good as you would think with those crap head, change them and you have a great drumset. The only gripe I have is the color wrap on the cannon of a bassdrum was not glued all the way down, Making it look rippled.I'm in a hardcore band, and my band-mates love the the really deep punch the bass has, by far the best quality of the kit!
