First off, realize that this set can not sound professional no matter how much you put into it. you can make it sound decent, but that's about it.I bought this drumset because it was cheap, and cool looking. I needed another set that was cheap that i could gig with, and not worry about destroying it.If your looking for better sound, you're going to have to work for it. First of all, don't order this without ordering new heads also. On the toms i put evans hydraulics, an evans super tough (st) snare head, and emad and emad 2 bass drum heads. I'll start with the great things about this set.. The bass drum - with evans emad heads (batter and resonant), this bass drum sounds great. It's a cannon. The heads that come with it suck, i broke mine in a couple weeks. The Small Tom - it also sounds great, as long as you put a new batter head on it. I used the evans hydraulic... which looks awesome too because it's black. You can get a fairly deep sound out of the small tom, but it sounds best in the mid range.Price - it doesn't matter if you beat the crap out of these. you didn't pay much for them. The BAD.......... -you'll need new heads-hardware on cymbal stands WILL eventually strip out. I promise. mine started last week.-the floor toms are a bit difficult. you can get them to sound OK... but don't expect anything amazing.-the snare drum sucks. there's a groove in the shell under where the snares go. i don't know why they make it that way, but you need to sand it down, and then tune your snare as tight as you can possibly get it. then you have an ALMOST decent snare.-the hoops on the bass drum suck. mine aren't quite round.. which makes for a pain when assembling the drum.OVERALL-Look, i knew that I would get what i paid for. Be prepaired.. it's not going to be pretty at first.. but you can make them work nicely as an amature gigging set. I'm happy with mine.............. for now.

This drum set is very nice looking but the weird sizes are very hard to tune. the hardware is really messed up and breaks all the time. I have broken 3 snare lugs from just playing and I've broken the snare stand from just playing. Also the snare stand is a tallish stand but the hi hat stand is very short, so its hard to get it to a comfortable spot. The floor tom legs are really short so again it very hard to get the snare and in a good spot with everything else. The bottom head of the snare broke the day I got the drum set and then the accuatal snare broke and I had to gut an old snare just so this one would work. the pedal isn't very good and the beater broke after three weeks. the olny good hardware are the strait stand and the boom stand. the drums them selves dont sound good except the bass drum, which is the high light of the kit. i wouldnt waste your money on this kit, save up and but a tama kit, there solid and sound so much better.

This is a great drum set. I don't really like the high hat stand and snare stand but other then that this set is perfect. The snare stand dosnt go low enough for me. The cymbal stands it comes with are great tho.
this set is awesome. buy it. i got tha purple/black finish its awesome. the bass drum is like a cannon and the hole set is great value. very easy to ajust and sounds amazingGREAT SET DDRUM
This kit sounds awesome if you put black dots on every tom and snare. and have two moon gels on every tom (not on snare). The kick sounds punchy you fill it with a blanket and put some nice Emads on it. You get a lot of variety when you add a 8 x 10 tom. The only problem I found with this kit was one of the floor tom leg brackets broke somehow. Once they do it's hard to replace, but I found a peace lug in the same color and drilled another hole to make it fit. Overall this is a pretty sweet kit for the price.
After i had looked at the price and the set, i thought that this set would suck. I WAS WRONG. i was amazed at the quality of the snare and bass. The toms could use a little more work. Perhaps i haven't found the right head yet. (I'm using Evans right now.)The hardware that came with the set is still holding up. I've had the drumset for two years now, and it hasn't let me down. It 's been threw snow, rain, and harsh heat. This set is truly amazing. If you are a punk...buy the PUNX.
The bass on this drum is amazing. I bought a Double bass Iron Cobra for it and new remo heads and it was good to go. Its a crazy set
First, the hardware is decent i still use it, you might want to change out the high hat stand...2nd great bass drum i love the sound its like a cannon... 3rd this set is hard to tune(Change the heads to Remo Coated Emporers, a Aquarian Super Kick, And a Remo Controlled sound on the snare) i had to buy a snare muffler becausue that is the only drum i couldnt tune and once i got that it sounded top notch, decent set ddrum
The hardware was decent at best and I replaced the snare with a Spaun to match the greatest bass I've ever played. I put an Aquarian Super-Kick 2 on the bass and it's perfect. Wrapping on the toms, snare and bass is sub-par. The bass saved the whole set.
Ddrum did there best. Beautiful set in every way. The bass drum is canon like, and the snare has a nice crack. Toms create a great sound that drum kits in this price range do not give. I have been an active musician since I was a kid ( around 1975 ) and I havent seen a drum set in this price range perform this well. I would recommend this drum kit to anyone looking for a set that sounds as beautiful as it looks. 5 stars. Great for the price, great for beginners to intermediates on a budget, or have money and looking for a great set.
I got this kit about a year ago, and it was worth it. First off, get new heads as with any other kit. Pinstripes work good, and don't overdampen the snare if you want to hear its true potential. The bass drum sounds incredible with Evans EMAD.When tuned correctly you can get decent tones from the toms and a nice crack out of the snare. The main downside is the hardware. Not very durable, and the snare stand is tall. Second is the powdercoating does chip off in some spots. If you like rimshots like me, then the paint on the rim of the snare will chip off.If you dont mind a few cosmetic flaws and maybe replacing some hardware then I would suggest this kit. Still good for the money.
Got my diablo as a gift.Tried tuning it to no avail. Tried different Heads(Remo emp, pins, coated) still nah.If you are going to buy this brand. Check out the inner ply (there should be a gap)and the wrapping there must be an overlap in at least 3 of the toms.If you did not find anything. Lucky you, you bought a different brand! Felt so sorry for my drums when I tried lower end Yamaha and Gretsch. Fortunately the hardware stood a bit and improved the overall rating to 2.5 rating.Guys at d drums should review the person who approved putting their name on this model.
