OVERVIEW

Maple and poplar shells team up for a brighter warmth for your drum sound.

This ddrum Paladin Maple Fusion 5-Piece Shell Pack is the perfect mix of woods, allowing the warm of maple and the brightness of poplar to coexist as a true Vintageblend. The toms are crafted from six plies of 100% maple, while the snare and bass drum feature eight plies of blended maple and poplar. The unique blend of woods produce satisfying low-end and attack which make a perfect graduation kit for the entry to mid-level percussionist.

To help you realize the full power and tone of the shells, the shell pack includes Chrome Fixtpitch suspension mounts (including tom arm and clamps) to maximize resonance. Additionally, the drums are topped off with 2.3mm steel hoops, "face off" style lugs and Resolift bass drum spurs.

Compound these features with a quartet of finishes and matching bass drum hoops, and you're ready to take your drumming to the next level.

Cymbals and hardware sold separately.

Comments about Ddrum Paladin Maple Fusion 5-Piece Shell Pack:

I have had the opportunity of using a lot of different kits in my life and being able to gig with them. Some of my fav kits have been the Yamaha Oak Custom, Pearl Reference Kit, and Yamaha Maple Custom. I was a bit hesitant to pick up this kit, having friends who told me Ddrum acoustic kits can be mediocre. The main reason I originally got it was it's price point and to have it as a demo kit I was going to leave in a studio room I shared with other bands, so that the other bands could use it. When I got this kit I was really surprised by how good it sounded. The best way I can sum it up is that this is the way that I always wanted a Yamaha Stage Custom to sound. It utilizes the mixed wood sound quite well and sounds as good in a room as it's full retail price would indicate. Now some of you guys with higher line kits may not think much of that statement. But this is not a top of the line kit. It is a mid level kit, and it personifies everything a mid level kit should be about. It doesn't use the best woods, it's made of poplar and maple. The poplar is advertised as making the kid louder, and while that is true this doesn't work well with the kick, where it is loud but the tone just does not have enough bass for my tastes. It doesn't sound bad, but the kit loses a point The toms are definitely the best part of this kit. Never in my life have I played a kit where the toms stayed in tune so well. And they sound great. Props to Ddrum here. The short stack gives the toms a really quick feel and you can't help but want to groove on the kit. Stock heads are also excellent, Ddrum didn't cut corners here. The construction overall I will say beats out some more expensive midlevel Mapex and Premier kits but won't really compare to some of the top dog drum manufacturers. The kit as a whole sounds it's best playing at fast speeds, where other midlevel kits lag. If you are into fusion kits, you should really consider picking this up, you won't be disappointed

I bought these for my ten year old son to upgrade his starter drum set, wow what a difference in sound. He loves them and should not need another set for years to come.
