OVERVIEW

Superior trigger from ddrum.

ddrum Pro Acoustic Triggers are equipped with a very sturdy mechanical housing, an XLR jack for safe connection to the sound module, and they can be mounted anywhere around the hoop.

With their superb tracking ability, ddrum triggers set a new standard of drum trigger mechanics. With absolutely no adhesives required, the ddrum triggers clamp onto the sides of standard drum hoops.

The specially designed transducer is softly pressed against the bass drumhead. The advantages are obvious; you can change drum heads over and over without damaging the transducer, the metal casing protects the trigger from accidental drum hits and the ultra-light pressure of the transducer against the head prevents any "damping" effect.

FEATURES
  • Playing dynamics are recognized in a "natural way," allowing for a realistic dynamic response across the entire kick drumhead (from the center of the head to the rim)
  • Double triggering problems are reduced
  • The special design trigger reduces cross-talk problems
  • Together with ddrum sound modules, cross talk and double triggering are totally eliminated. No muffling is needed
  • Fits most types of molded hoops
  • No adhesive is needed
  • Sturdy construction
  • All parts interchangeable

I own 3, one for each kick drum and one for my 2nd floor tom, for deeper bass drops. I play lots of gigs, so these things get tossed around, set up and broken down at least 2 or 3 times a month. I hear a lot of folks say that they cant get it synced up for faster playing, having volume or xtalk issues. Its certainly not the trigger, but the trigger module being used. Me, im using the Alesis dm5. I had the same problems everyone else had..it simply takes some knob tweaking, may it be the gain, xtalk, etc. At this time i ALMOST had absolutely no problems ,until my last gig when a wire from the transducer came off, and my left kick worked, but my right one didn't. I had them for over a year, so i wasnt surprised, but bummed. the good thing is, the guys at Ddrum are great with returning emails and would even replace the trigger....but i lost the receipt. Guess im buying new. Theres a reason the pros use these triggers.
Pretty straight forward, foam transducer in a tough metal housing.
Rough and tumble, if treated correctly, will last you years.
One of the best acoustic triggers you could buy without breaking your wallet.

I've been playing music for 25+ years (scary thought), and recording for about 15. To my memory, this is the least durable equipment I have ever owned. I have the snare and kick trigger (ran thru an SPD-S). They worked great for a little over 6 months, then they died. The snare died within a few weeks of the kick. No rough treatment, I play a couple gigs a month if that, and I take good care of my stuff.

I sent them back to ddrum, and they replaced them, but the second pair also died well within a year!? I doubt ddrum will replace them again, so I'll just try a different brand this time.

They are no good to me given the lack of reliability.

      awesome triggers

Comments about Ddrum Pro Acoustic Bass Drum Trigger:

I have two of these on my kick drums. I have had them for over 5 years and they still work great. One thing: the outputs on all ddrum Pro series triggers are UNBALANCED XLR. this means that any balanced cable will not work (it will create a short in the signal). I made the mistake of buying balanced cables, so I had to re-solder the plug ends.

      should have gotten roland

Comments about Ddrum Pro Acoustic Bass Drum Trigger:

I bought one of these about 6 or 7 months ago and it didn't work out of the box, so I sent it back and got a new one which worked fine until a couple weeks ago when it quit working completely. I hear from a lot of people these don't last, but they do work well for a little while. I would recommend this for studio work but not the road.

I've been using this trigger on my bass drum for a good while now, and it has not ceased to please me. It never misses a beat, and is easily mounted for fast setup. Perfect for death metal drummers like myself that play with a lot of double strokes and very fast single stroke rolls, never misses a beat. A+ trigger

I got these triggers the other day and so far they're working great..Just make sure you don't have the sensitivity on you module up too high or when you hit your snare it will activate the trigger.

      The best triggers Iv'e had!

Comments about Ddrum Pro Acoustic Bass Drum Trigger:

I use these on both my bass drums. If anyone plays with two basses they know how hard it can be to tune both drums the same. These fix everything. I picked up a roland td-7 and completely made my custom kick sound. My band members and fans love it because of the clarity of the sound. The trigger housing is built like a tank and stays secure on my hoops. Don't think about buying them, buy them! Best move I've made.

      D-drum trigger review Aantar

      By Aantar

Comments about Ddrum Pro Acoustic Bass Drum Trigger:

I've used D-drum triggers for 10 years. These triggers are THE best but be sure to have back up's on tour or in the studio. I wont use anything else because the XLR jacks keep the cable clicked in place.

Comments about Ddrum Pro Acoustic Bass Drum Trigger:

Ddrum triggers (the kick model in particular) are road warriors! No other brand is going to deliver this kind of quality and durability. Period. Don't waste your money. Buy a Ddrum FIRST.
