For the average drummer looking for a cheap alternative for triggering, these guys are one of the best values on the market. At half the price of the others in the market, the Red Shot's offer spectacular single triggering. As some others have said, these are VERY hot triggers so you will need to dial down your module's sensitivity, but once you dial them in they are fool-proof.As an experienced Edrummer, there's not much better for converting an acoustic kit to electronics. I have used these triggers with Roland's TD-10, Yamaha's DTXpress and Alesis' D4 modules all with great results. While they do lack the 'rim sensor' feature, for the single triggers that they are, there's not much else out there that can match them. They mount in seconds and can be used with mesh heads like the Pearl Mesh Heads for completely silent drumming. If you are really ambitious and want to do some home recording you can even pick up a few extras and place them on your cymbals using the wingnut assembly on most cymbal stands - be very careful of the cancellation features of your module doing this though. You need to really desensitize them for this to work well.Overall, these are a quick install (requires removing one lug and replacing) and when used with good cables will give you excellent results. They also seem to work with just about every manufacturer's modules on the market today!

These triggers are convenient because no adhesive is necessary and I have no problem worrying about double triggering. Unfortunately they're also crappy because they aren't made very well. The wires are exposed on top and the plug-ins are not very good quality. One of my triggers that were part of the 5 trigger package had a defective plug in, it works, but the 1/4" chord cannot go in all the way. I had to bend the metal plate on the kick trigger so that the trigger would lay on the bass drum head. However, it does say that the metal plate may have to be bent in the overhyped directions that were included. The directions, by the way, were not written very well either. The heavier, better built, original ddrum triggers are worth the price but these are more than they should be, a disappointment. I won't buy these again.

I had troubles with these triggers. They were intermittent at best. Tried 2 different kick triggers after talking to drum support. No real difference. The snare triggered OK, and sometimes the toms. Replaced cables, tried different locations, etc. Just never really worked. I did like the sounds on the box though.

Just added a little silicon on the plugs and jacks and covered the exposed thin wires with foam for bad hits and that's all she wrote. Set up the triggers with a D5 out to the puter and mixed the acoustics with the frozen midi tracks. Awsome sound.
Nice to align the midi hits and then align the udio to the midi. I'm all set for my new album.

Comments about ddrum Red Shot 5-Piece Drum Trigger Pack:

This is for my 2nd Acoustic to Electronic conversion. The first one I built my own custom triggers, a lot of work and they failed often. For the price, I couldn't resist trying these for my 2nd conversion. I've been nothing but happy with them. They were fairly easy to dial in on my Roland TD-10 module and seem to work pretty flawlessly so far (about 2 week in). There are some things that could certainly be improved...a lug wrech has to be forced onto the lug where the trigger is attached and the expsoed wires scare me a lot. The wires are fairly thin and a good whack or two by an errant stick would likely cause them to fail. I attached them in "out of the way" spots on my kit to try to mitigate this possibility and so far I've had no issues. I only have one gig played with them so far but they worked perfectly.

On another note, if you are new please do not listen to many of the ludicrous reviews...some claim they make the drums sound "boomy" which is riiculous because your module decides how the drums sound, not the trigger. If you are getting doublke triggering then you need to read your sound modules instruction manual and fix it, its an easy setting. Truth is when set up properly these work as good as any trigger on the market, and you cannot beat the price. It is not the products fault that you don't take the time to learn your equipment. The product functions perfectly on my kit and on many others so don't believe the guys claiming these don't work right. Could they be more durable, sure...could the lug wrench problem be fixed, probably. Do the triggers WORK, absolutely they do, and they work very well when set up properly in your drum module, end of story.

I play 2 to 3 gigs a week. I've bought 2 sets of these. Not because I like them but because they continually fail. My second bass trigger didn't make it 3 gigs. Also the hole location makes it nearly impossible to get a lug wrench on the lugs of the toms. Great when they work. Not so much when they start failing in the middle of a show. I'm now looking for something that really works.

Comments about ddrum Red Shot 5-Piece Drum Trigger Pack:

I play in a seven piece horn band in New York. Space is at a premium. I have three drum sets... an acoustic set, a Roland Electronic set for practice and I just purchased a Traps set for gigs (mostly for the compact size.) I wanted some stage volume but most of our sound goes out the front end. I was going to mic them up, but our sound engineer has become addicted to the ease of me using electronic pads. I had used d-drums on my acoustic set years ago and decided to try them again on these drums. What a difference! I use both a DM5 and a Roland head. These triggers are great. They mount easily and are tough as nails.
One thing... the wiring is exposed, right on top of the trigger. I ended up putting some stage tape over them. I worry about damaging a trigger (the road can be tough on stuff) I ended up buying an extra set of triggers to bring along, in case I do break a wire. A few turns with a drum key, and I'm back in business. I don't know if it's Murphy's Law or what, but I've found if you carry extra equipment you NEVER need it!
BOTTOM LINE: These are great triggers. They work with every kind of brain. They're tough... well built and dependable. The price is right too. No hesitation.

Good value horrid when they start to fail. Cheap enough to buy several sets.
No glue, tape etc. and can be switched from set to set if needed. Easy to put on take off etc. This is my 2nd purchase of a set of 5.
Great triggers. They last about 4 to 7 years. Wish they would refurb but cheap enough not to matter too much.
                  Not too expensive.

                  Work great!!

Comments about ddrum Red Shot 5-Piece Drum Trigger Pack:

great triggers. anyone that says otherwise dont know how to set them up. YOU HAVE TO ADJUST THE SENSITIVITY ON THE DRUM MODULE PEOPLE!!!!!!!! These triggers are REALLY sensitive so if you just plug them in out of the box, most of the time they're gonna double trigger or worse. They'll overdrive whatever the module is ran to also. So you HAVE to adjust the sensitivity on the module. Now I gave an 8 for quality simply because the wires are ran mostly on the outside. But I realize that if the wires were completely on the inside, the rim would pinch the wires, so as long as youre careful, you wont have any problems, and if you do, its not like they're hard to fix. They're NOT junk by a long shot. If you need great trigger that will work for you for years, get em.

This has got to be the biggest waist of time ever. I had to hold the damn plug in the jack by hand while testing these triggers out. That's how bad these were. The triggers gave me so much double triggering, that it sounded like one big roll! Please dont get this product if you are a seriouse musician, a good suggestion would be the original ddrum triggers.
