Comments about ddrum Red Shot Bass Drum Trigger:

Look folks, I've had and steadily used a set of these triggers since April of 2012. They've been mounted on the drums and not taken off since they were new, and the drums are NOT in cases and loaded in and out of a trailer all the time. I have only had to replace the element in the bass drum trigger one time because of the loading and unloading. The toms are fine and still work fine. Even though the actual wire is too small and the solder joints are not the best in the world, you should never have problem with these if theyre never beat on. Beat the dog out of em, or mess around when installing and dont be careful, you can mess em up. They work excellent with an Alesis DM4 module. NO PROBLEMS. But I guess its just like everything else, if you dont know what youre doing then dont mess with it. All it takes is a lil common sense and care during use and when not in use and they'll last you a good long while. Come on people, these thing were and are not made to last forever like stuff made 40 years ago. If you get nearly 2 years out of these you should be very happy.

completely worthless!

By evan wiegert

from Northern California

Comments about ddrum Red Shot Bass Drum Trigger:

Save your money and buy something better, or buy something else. I really would hate for some dude to get all stoked on finally getting triggers and have to deal with these toys. I'm just trying to help.
I bought these triggers thinking that if i took good care of them they would be fine. I couldn't have been more wrong. SAVE YOUR MONEY! and buy the ddrum pro or the roland. Even the pulse red hots school these things. DDrum should really get rid of these things. If ddrum wants to sell a cheaper trigger, they should just sell some red hot piezo's cause these triggers are jokes!
Crap quality. They break before you can even dial them in all the way. the first thing i noticed when hooking up to my drums is that they dont fit rally well on the hoop. They send a spacing ring so you can try to make it fit better but even with that it didnt fit very well. Its really hard to tune your head when the space between the lug and the wall is so tight you cant get your tuning key in there to tune. The first show i played which was a day after receiving and installing the triggers, was a nightmare. I got the trigger kinda dialed in, i mean good enough to play a show without major double triggering and crosstalk. The thing lasted about three songs and then started to not fire on some hit, and then no hits at all. After the show i checked out the trigger and saw that the input had come loose, the contact in side was to flimsy, and bent back, and the piezo on the end wasnt picking up any hits. I tried to fix them, but found now luck.
They are cheap to buy, and cheaply made. Theres that saying you get what you pay for, and that isn't always the case, but with these you get less. LOL. Dont waste your money. If you want triggers and dont have enough for the ddrum pro, or roland, get the pulse red hots. they dominate these triggers, and thats pretty sad.

Ruined a show for me...

By Derek-Aj4sa

from Sale Creek, TN

Comments about ddrum Red Shot Bass Drum Trigger:

These triggers worked great- No problems in the practice space... I am not a hard bass drum player but 2 songs into the first show I used them in, the wire running up the middle snapped and cause the brain of the triggers to send an insane amount of snare sounds through the pa in the venue- It was a trainwreck... Skip these and get the "Pulse Percussion Red Hots DR-1 Drum Trigger" found on this website... duct tape one to the top of the batter-head on your kick drum and it will respond amazingly...

Works great...for 5 minutes!

By Max-WBxTV

from Wisconsin

Comments about ddrum Red Shot Bass Drum Trigger:

Went through 3 of these things. Got two replacements from Musician's Friend, and one from ddrum...great people to work with. The wires that go from the cable jack to the actual triggering sensor would snap off.I have since purchased the Roland RT-10K Kick Trigger and it works great and is much sturdier. I would stay away from the ddrum trigger: it works great, but for only 5 minutes until it falls apart. They need to use thicker gauge wires and more soldering!

Great triggers for only a short time!

By Undead Deceiver

from Los Angeles, Ca.

Comments about ddrum Red Shot Bass Drum Trigger:

This trigger works great, but for only about a few months. The wires will break from the solder, on the sensor. If you play really fast, they will eventually fall apart. I'm sure all triggers are the same though. Just purchase the warranty and you'll be fine for a while.

Great triggers for low price

By Whiplash92-OGnY6

from Raleigh, NC

Comments about ddrum Red Shot Bass Drum Trigger:

I got these triggers not knowing what to expect. I needed them for my 2 bass drums, and with my Yamaha DTX module they work perfectly! If your considering triggering your bass drum(s), which you should if you ever want to play at audible high speeds, get these triggers! They are cheap and work just like they are supposed to.

Red Shot Kick Trigger

By Gene Godley

from San Antonio, TX

Comments about ddrum Red Shot Bass Drum Trigger:

Excellent drum trigger. Same transducer as the ddrum, just mounts with a lug and uses a 1/4" instead of xlr. Some say it's made cheaper (ok somewhat) but being a kick trigger it can (should) never be accidently hit since you're playing in the center of the head all the time unlike toms. So (IMO) the heavy duty casing is not needed. Moving it to a 2nd kit..It's just 1 Lug and you're done. IMO...Best value is the Red Shot Kick Trigger .... Hands Down.
